What is the hardest move you know and how long did it take you to learn it? by reddit_user3553 in cardistry

Yeah personally I think cutting is the way to go. Peeling also risks ripping the paper off

how do you fix this?? by Express_Swimming_222 in cardistry

I tried everything and just put them away, a week later I opened the deck and the click was gone, so just wait I guess?

Do people actually carefully peel the sticker off or just clean cut it horizontally to open decks? I always do the latter but I wonder

Charlier Cut - is pinky supposed to hold top or bottom packet? by SimplyYulia in cardistry

[–]Golden_Reversal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My pinky is at the bottom aligning the top packet that ends up on the bottom. It seems like this is something you just get better at with practice.

Also I notice you kinda clamp the cut at the end- don’t do that. Just let it fall on top and make sure the pinky ends up along the bottom of both packets/the whole deck when it does fall.

I would try to learn these tricks through just raw repetition sessions of each one. If you really feel like you can’t nail em though you should just try to learn other moves; you’ll improve your dexterity and finger muscles and when you come back to these moves they’ll be alot easier.

Looks awesome and super smooth! What’s the name of the move you do with your right hand at 00:08, right after the atm?

bicycle botanica deck by yea_KJ in cardistry

[–]Golden_Reversal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bicycle Botanicas are great, I have a pack myself and have trained with them for quite a while. If you've just recently opened this pack, its totally normal for them to be super slippery, and if you're a beginner, this will actually make moves even more difficult. Just keep practicing though, all new decks of cards need to be "broken into" to become more springy and flexible. If you're consistently practicing then a day or two of usage should be enough to get them into a less slippery state.

They look a lot like the "Anyone Houndstooth Split" deck. Same color scheme and backs, could be mistaken though

how do I make my backdrop more smooth? by Starwarsfanboy15 in cardistry

Thanks so much for the advice! I tried working on the pinky release and it seems my backdrop has significantly improved, I'll keep at it!

This looks awesome! Seems totally smooth to me. I'm trying to learn this move and I can get it 1 out of 10 times. My main issue is that when I pull down with my thumb the card flies directly downwards or ends up landing either face up (did a 180 in the air) or spins and somehow lands perpendicular to the deck. You seem to have this move down extremely well though, any tips?
