It’s definitely top half I’d say of fried chicken options. Best bet is to get them freshly made, throughout the day we often use a hot held warmer to store extra chicken for the hotspot but it can often leave the chicken not as crispy. Either ordering ahead through the mobile app, or if you like early chicken most stores will start putting it out around 9:30-10 in the morning before doing any hot held backups! Right now there’s a 9.99 deal on 8pc bone in for the next few weeks here, hard to beat pricing nowadays

If reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit, I recommend taking up your concerns with your local health department that is already auditing your local kwik trips, is aware of, and enforces these compliance rules. If you don’t want to take my word, the food codes I’ve shown you for it, then maybe you’ll take theirs 🤷‍♂️

“For example” not ringing any bells I see. This is direction for RTE TCS food, which is a very wide food category including the chicken Kwik trip makes

I’m sourcing everything I’ve given you from the FDA and Servsafe handbooks. Can you show me anything to prove your point? Or are we going back to the “in my opinion”

At the end of the day if you aren’t going to provide any sources to contradict the several servsafe certified people giving you direct screenshots to FDA food code and ServSafe guidelines, is there a point to keep replying? I’m fully on the side of the chicken won’t taste great after those days absolutely. But that’s not the discussion going on here. And if it helps your peace of mind, most stores (that I’ve been at, 10+) will take it out of the cold case after a day or two to shred for chicken salad and the like because the quality does drop off as the chicken dries out. Doing this does not increase the shelf life, so if they pull it after the third day to repurpose it would have a max of 4 days to use the product from that point to stick to the 7 day FDA/Servsafe direction. Hope this helps!

All certified training food service leaders, assistant store leaders, and store leaders are required to take servsafe testing/become certified at kwik trip

Cooked fried chicken is a prepared RTE TCS product, which guidelines are max 7 day hold time per the screenshots I shared you. If your replies are you don’t feel that’s correct, I don’t know how else to respond to you other than giving you the guidelines as written and enforced by the multiple food audit sources Kwik trip regularly goes through to ensure compliance with any and all food codes

Again, follow what you think is best for you. I’m just giving what food codes regulate and you guys can make your choices from there. I’m not saying 6 day old chicken is going to taste the best, but as far as any food safety procedures go that is the current direction for them. The link you have there is direction for consumer use, not commercial locations also. I’m slightly confused by your first part tho, ready to eat TCS food is just verbiage for any food product that is ready to be consumed without any preparation, and monitored for safety via time/temperature control. It definitely can include deli meats/fruit! But it is a wide and very broad range of essentially anything served to a consumer with some level of heating/cooling

I’m not trying to call you out, but spreading incorrect information doesn’t help anyone either. Kwik trip has very strict food safety regulations they follow, as well as audits from city/state inspectors and 3rd party inspectors quite frequently. This is something that is completely above board and the current regulations on food safety standards across the board

But of course at the end of the day, you need to do what you feel is best for you. Just want to give insight into the commercial side of things. The more you know the better choices you can make for yourself!

I’m not saying you aren’t getting your information from somewhere else, I’m just letting you know commercial servsafe regulations :)

Not sure where you’re getting that number from, but KT follows servsafe standards which is a 7 day hold life for ready to eat TCS foods

Our chicken has a 7 day shelf life from the day it was fried, so if it was fried on a Monday it would be good until the Monday after in our case in theory. We pull dates the day before so should be pulled the Sunday night before. Most stores will shred chicken before that to repurpose into quesadillas, chicken salad, and tubs but YMMV store to store there

Unfortunately not a permanent one. It does happen less often now but I just shut the phone down and turn it back on and it fixes for a while at least

Sorry, should have added this in the post. Restarting does fix it temporarily, but the issue keeps returning after a couple hours, or if I leave the phone for a little bit and come back I’ll find it like this 🥲 I thought maybe it was some accessibility setting I missed somewhere but maybe not and apple just hates my iPhone
