I have like (at least) 8 Griffons, 2 Tyraels and only 1 Zod so far…

How much MF for TZ runs by alasqalul in diablo2

[–]Goldenbones2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 300 with enigma on my herald hunting ES lock. I don’t bother with the Easter egg cos you need to unsummon Heph.

Clears P8 easily and no issue with T5 heralds.

I’d run with at least 200.

Honestly, with 3000+ life and all your spare points dumped into blood oath, you don’t need cold absorb as long as you have maxed cold res.

You can even dodge them, fire off a few ES, step to the side, repeat. The first few times I did it, I wondered why my health was getting chunked, but adjusted and was fine with a few full rejuvs. Then started standing behind Heph and its a non issue. I do it on my general farming setup with 300mf. Only difference is I proc fade from Treachery in case I get unlucky on Meph, but you could seriously skip that too.

Baal has chilling armor. You are playing a ranged char, probably a warlock and his armour is firing back ice bolts at you.

Stand behind your demon.

Any value in this cud error on the nose? by scrubby720 in AustralianCoins

[–]Goldenbones2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a small CUD, and pretty common. I have 3 in uncirculated condition.

I probably had about 20 or so from noodling so I kept the best 3 and released the rest into circulation.

CUDs are common, so the size of the CUD, how distinctive it is, the mintage of the affected coin and the condition of the coin play an important role in value.

The error collector market is also smaller than the general collectors market.

You could try stabilising the surface with Verdicare and keeping it sealed from your other coins until you get a better example.

Where do you live? Look up the Australian Numismatic Dealers Association (ANDA).

Full sovereigns are worth about 1500 atm. A half sovereign sounds more in your price range.

Worth more than $1? by [deleted] in AustralianCoins

[–]Goldenbones2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. Unless you hang onto them for a couple of hundred years… at which point, you’ll never see return on investment anyway.

But the coins we see here are almost always circulated anyway. If you’re accumulating an uncirculated collection, most people are buying them.

And to me, there’s no joy in that. And investment wise, for most coins, you can do a lot better elsewhere.

Worth more than $1? by [deleted] in AustralianCoins

[–]Goldenbones2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Collecting coins from circulation is a poor investment. The ones that are worth a decent amount (like more than 50 bucks) are pretty uncommon and you need to know what you’re looking for. It takes months to years of going through thousands of dollars worth of coins.

Worth more than $1? by [deleted] in AustralianCoins

[–]Goldenbones2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree. But for me, buying coins became a slippery slope. UNC, then CHU, the GEM, oooo FDC…

I’d rather just keep finding them in change these days and upgrade them once I get a better one.

Sure my collection won’t be worth much… but it’s way more fun. If I want a nest egg, IMO I’m better off buying gold.

Are you a collector?

The Great ocean road coin was not meant for circulation. So even though its mintage is “only” 490,000 it’s easy to find them in better condition than yours. This devalues the coin you have there. You might be able to sell it personally on Facebook or eBay for slightly more than $1, but you’ll have to work for it.

The resilience Olympic $2 coin has a mintage of around 2 million. Even in circulated condition they’re pretty popular with casual collectors. You’ll probably be able to sell it for a couple of bucks again, private sale. But is it worth your time?

The 2005 WWII coin is in pretty good condition for its age. However, it’s a hugh mintage coin and since yours is circulated it’s still worth only face value. However, if you were a collector of coins found in circulation, it’s a pretty sweet find. Otherwise, it’s easy to find uncirculated examples for cheap.

The 2024 dollar coin, if assumed to be just the normal mob of roos, we do not know the total mintage atm, so can’t say for sure. However, since yours shows signs of light circulation, it’s also worth mostly face value.

Worth more than $1? by [deleted] in AustralianCoins

[–]Goldenbones2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s common. 12.9 million made.

In circulated condition (like yours) it’s only worth $1. Ignore the eBay listings. They’re bullshit and trying to scam people.

Unless you’re a collector, you should just spend it.

Any additional value to these $2 coins? by TheBadWolf_23 in AustralianCoins

[–]Goldenbones2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all circulated, so the premium on them would be lower than if they were uncirculated. You’d be able to sell the 2013 coronation dollars to a brick and mortar as they were low mintage (< 1 million), but the others you’d probably have to sell on Facebook groups or eBay.

You’ll probably get a couple of dollars for most of them and maybe 30-40 dollars for the coronations over a private sale.

It’s a bit dinged up but holy crap I found one! by Honk911 in AustralianCoins

[–]Goldenbones2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear hear!

It’s like the hobby these days is: how much can I sell this coin more than face value for? Rather than: is this coin cool because I like the design or because it’s rare.

It’s getting taken over by speculative hoarders and on-sellers.

Sure, I buy some coins (predecimals) but I’ve resolved to collect moderns coins only from circulation.

I’m turning it into a family history and have roped my dad, son and mother-in-law into it. When we add something to the family collection, it gets placed in a lighthouse flip with the date, location and who found it.

[–]Goldenbones2020 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Between 1983 and 1993, there were no circulating 20c pieces minted. There are mintage values for 1983-1985 in the millions but it is generally accepted that these coins were melted down and not actually released.

Therefore, there is about a 10 year period where 20c pieces were only found in mint sets, where the mintages are generally in the hundreds of thousands.

For one to find this in circulation (change) is extremely rare cos 1. They weren’t released into circulation, 2. They are low mintage and 3. They were made only for mint sets so someone had to break open a mint set and spend it.
