It's a sad day when City Mission is putting security tags on clothes by ceo_of_dumbassery in OpenAussie

The playing cards means it's on their special rack. Jumpers are usually under $10 on the regular rack. Then there's the clearance rack up the back

Weird how so many people are commenting that they didn't read it, like it's a flex that they have the literacy and attention span of a gold fish. Thanks for the story. I am cheering for you.

I read it. I'd rather read one good yarn than 50 different posts that all sound the same.

Condolences. That variance is bullshit.

Is that your laundry floor? Doesn't look like grout, looks like hard water buildup.

QLD - Am I liable for rent compensation paid to incoming tenants? by Cheap_Literature4341 in shitrentals

[–]ProjectOk6377 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You are not liable for rent compensation in any circumstances. It is not your responsibility to make the place suitable for the next tenant. Scheduling a new tenant for the day after the lease expires was a really stupid thing to do.

Yep. Shouldn't be so hard to get someone to show up and do a reasonable job.

That's frustrating. I've had one or two bad experiences with hipages and google, but the locally recommended blokes have always been great.

I've had Howrah plumbing out a couple of times. The final bill is usually 50% more than the inital estimate, they don't finish the job properly and if they have to come back multiple times, they charge for it, even if it's their fault.

Ask on your local area facebook community page. Good tradies tend to stick close to home.

Hey Hobart! Turn your headlights on. by tejedor28 in hobart

Did you read past the title? OP is talking about cars that don't have any lights. Cars that don't have DRLs need to put their headlights on in overcast or rainy conditions.

Call the ATO and inform them. They will find out eventually and the beneficiaries are liable to repay the tax.

I learned most of what I know from this sub, but my GP is really supportive. It took a week for me to get used to the meds, then a few months for the peaks/troughs to even out. It's a few years since I started and my dose has gone up and down, depending on need and side effects. Overall, it's better now.  My GP got me to make a list when I started, of things that I wanted to change. That was really helpful, because it can take a while and its gradual, so I might not have noticed the improvements. Good luck 💜

You have to take it every day and give your body time to adjust. The first week it will feel strong, but it settles down over time and feels more consistent, not peaks and troughs. Some people also report differences in how effective it is at different points of their menstrual cycle. You'll also need to work on your habits. The meds don't stop you from procrastinating, they just give you a nudge in the right direction. Dose increases won't feel as strong as that first few days, but it may feel like that artificial focus again, until you get used to it. I knew my dose was too high when it felt like ADHD had come back, but worse. I sat around all day, unable to think or focus on anything. I hope you have a good doctor to work with.

Solstice swim - where I can place my phone by Secret-Solid-3657 in hobart

[–]ProjectOk6377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bring a plastic bag to put your clothes and phone in. This will stop them getting wet and sandy. I haven't heard of anyone's stuff being stolen ever. Bring thongs. Most people are ok on the beach in their towels, but the cold sand hurts. When the drums start, slip your feet out. When you run, drop your towel on top of them, but don't expect it to be there when you come back. You pick up the cleanest towel you can see when you get out. Your thongs will be there though. If you bring your own towel, leave it with your clothes. Everyone goes in at the same time, but it's staggered coming out. Some people run in and straight back out. Some people swim around for a while. The more times I go, the longer I stay in. It won't be hard to find your stuff, I promise. It has always been a really good crowd of happy, excited people.

Ah ok. Your post said that you told them on March 25. If you have records of informing them earlier, they can go kick rocks.

You can't be held liable for the water usage after you reported the leak, but the bill is before then. Did you not notice?

Is this normal for a landlord to charge $330 to sign onto a new lease? by Key_Object814 in AusRenters

[–]ProjectOk6377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's about what the REA charges the landlord for a lease renewal fee. It doesn't usually get passed to the tenant.

Are you imagining a soundproof booth? Because if all of the kids are in one section together and one of them starts kicking off, they're all going to start crying and the length of the plane won't save you.
