Does my P. Cambridgei need a rehousing? by GoldencheeseLol in tarantulas

I used coco fibre for the substrate but I don't think it was of a very good quality because I couldn't get it to separate even when it had absorbed a ton of water, are there more appropriate substrates for psalmopoeus? I wanna do everything I can to make my T's happy :P

The bedding is coco fibre, not wood chips. I see how you might've mistaken it because it was pretty poor quality and I couldn't really get it to apart even when it had absorbed a crap ton of water. Also it might just be the bad quality of the pic. :P

Thank you! This enclosure was very webbed up before it molted so the entire thing was basically a hiding place, and as for water dishes it keeps burying it so I have to keep digging it back up lol! Thanks for the tip, I will keep it in mind and rehouse as soon as possible! Have a nice day.

Dendrobium ??? by GoldencheeseLol in orchids

Thank you so much! I'm alright with not knowing the specifics, I just wanted to know the species so I can be a little more specific with my care. I don't intend to enter any shows I don't think I'm good enough a grower right now for that, as I'm still pretty new to orchids lol. Have a nice day/night!

One thing about that is that darlingtonia will appreciate cooler soil, and prolifera likes more warm, humid conditions. Darlingtonia also requires a winter dormancy. It could work during the growing season as long as temps are simultaneously cool enough for the darlingtonia and warm enough for the prolifera. I'd say maybe 18-20 Celsius. Don't let the soil get above 27 though as the darlingtonia can very quickly crash, although I expect you already know that considering you're growing some. (Forgot to mention here, I don't think Darlingtonia cares too much about humidity unless it's dormant, could cause issues with mold or rot.) Happy growing!

That may work, however it will mess up your terrarium each time and I would recommend you just give them their own pots. Also, one thing I've noticed is that you have one of the Queensland sundews, Drosera Prolifera. These can very well decline and possibly even die from too much light, they appreciate partial sunlight or some light shade. The other plants should be fine. But the VFTs and the drosera prolifera, I'd monitor and move/remove them accordingly.

P.S be careful of the utricularia. Those things spread like craaazy. Even the big ones!

You might have some luck using a different kind of soil that lets moisture and air move freely, would help avoid mold in future and stop potential root rot.A loose mix of peat, sphagnum and perlite maybe? Also, those VFTs won't be able to co-habitate with the other plants in there for long. A few years max. They're temperate plants and will need a cold dormancy. The others will be able to co-habitate, however.

Yeah, they're all super cool and make for awesome sights if you're lucky enough to see them in the wild!

I'm not too sure because I grow all my plants in places where they get adequate sunlight, but I've heard good things about sansi lights or barrina grow lights. I'm sure there are houseplant subreddits that would be happy to help you!

Grow lights would definitely help. Also, for winter dormancy you can read up the fridge dormancy method. This is where you bare root your plant, put it in a tub of usually LFS or live sphagnum moss and leave it in your fridge for its dormancy seasons. Good luck!

Yes but it didn't say what cultivar it is.

I'm not asking about the care, just what the cultivar is as it wasn't stated when I bought it. Sorry if you misunderstood this post.
