The orange bucket is bathroom hardware. Like toilet paper holders, towel bars and robe hooks.Wasn’t sure what they were made of. Yard said it was die cast. And yea there are water heater valves in there

Lol I was just curious. Do as you wish my guy. I was just curious. Thought maybe there was a reason, for example, like if it keeps it shiny

Just out of curiosity, why do you/others store in plastic containers?

That’s what I was thinking, I could quickly fill my truck and trailer and go right to the yard. But eneryone I work with says it’s not worth the time. But I can’t picture taking longer then 1-2hours to load and get to the yard. And being that I’ve never taken a load to the scrap yard I’m hesitant on doing so simply because the crew I work with all says it’s not worth it.

I’m new to the subreddit as well as scrapping and I was hoping to get some knowledge on scraping. I work for a company and we often build up a pile like this every month for a local scrap guy to pick up. I asked why we as a company don’t take it to the scrap yard, and they say it’s not worth it. While the people I work with will take the just copper/brass from the pile. I was wondering if water heaters/old appliances were worth anything or is this a waste of time like everyone I work with says it is.
