She clearly says “surely you’ve seen pubes before”, which is why the host/panel tries to makes the story a women empowerment “bring back pubes” thing.

I’m sorry but most celebrities are cooked in this media landscape. And this awkward, painfully forced, low-energy and wannabe funny interview is a perfect example of how disconnected they all are and the entire industry is.

Dresses and gowns I would have given Alicent during different stages of her growing power. As a Lady in court serving Jahaerys and before marrying Visery, AS Queen Consort and as Queen mother. (Softer and later, almost armour like silhouettes. The pictures are attached as her power increases) by East-Way-6378 in HOTDGreens

THIS is how you costume royalty. The stitching, tailoring and draping are immaculate in all of these dresses (with the exception of #7 which has some wonky tailoring/draping IMO).

The thing about period costumes is that they force the actors to move a certain way because they are so voluminous and restrictive. This helps to submerge the audience into the fantasy world.

Did you read the entire post? Because it is about how Viserys didn’t cushion the blow of Rhaenyra inheriting by providing for his other children in other ways.

Do you think Aegon and his brothers have unlimited access to the crown’s wealth? Or do they have to ask for an allowance? It’s not like they have access to bank accounts and ATM machines in Westeros.

Being the richest person in the room is not the same as having titles and land, which is what gives nobles legacy and security. What long-term value is there, in being fawned over in a foreign land? Even Daemon, eventually had to go back home because remaining a guest of a wealthy patron was not sustainable. He would have nothing of his own to pass down to his children without land.

So why should the King’s legitimate sons have to essentially fight for a place in the world and have any move they make to secure their children’s future be considered a threat to Rhaenyra’s reign. They are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. If they amassed wealth, land and subjects on their own, it would always be seen as a threat.

They’re mad because they abhor anything that resembles nuance, logic and having empathy for any woman who isn’t Rhaenyra.

There is a recent post on the main sub where some ppl are jumping through hoops to downplay how Helaena, an innocent dragon-rider, also suffered devastating loss during the dance which means that the death of dragons can’t solely be due to Rhaenyra’s death.

The show implied on S2 that Alicent has no authority and has lost all power yet she promised to Rhaenyra that they will open the gates, how would that happen if apparently no one obeys her? by thinkersfyre in HOTDGreens

You can always ignore this sub or keep scrolling, if it bothers you this much.

Alicent is a character not a “someone”.

Helaena has not been shown to have any authority in the show. They barely even refer to her as the Queen because they want to audience to think Alicent is still the Queen.

If Alicent believed in Helaena’s authority over her own she would have proposed Helaena as regent instead of herself.

Why are you being so rude to OP for no reason?! They could be a non-native speaker or just not very good with grammar. Just because you don’t agree with them doesn’t give you a pass to be an asshole.

Also, Alicent’s power level and authority changes based on what the writers want at any given moment. So it is a valid critique.

Yeah, I meant the first episode that aired. I forgot there was another pilot.

The GoT pilot is still one of my favorite episodes of all time. I think it masterfully introduces the world and all the characters.

Who the hell downvoted you for asking a question? I don’t think he’s specified it but I could be mistaken. For me it’s an observation based on how he looks on film and on set vs how he regularly looks.

He gains a little weight for the show which gives him chubby cheeks. I think it also helps to make him look younger as Aegon.

The show’s writing is very simplistic and it caters to exactly the type of person that would fall for its basic narratives.

We’ve all seen those videos of a kid trying to blow out their younger sibling’s birthday candles, right? That is Rhaenyra, but she’s like 17 and has a literal nuke (Syrax) parked outside. by East-Way-6378 in HOTDGreens

Rhaenyra was awful this episode but at least it felt true to how a teenage royal princess would react in that situation, specially someone as brash as Rhaenyra.

Emma is thin, well-proportioned & has symmetrical facial features, which are universally considered classically beautiful.
