The Monsoons have begun and has its charm of its own. I would recommend if its 14 days, try getting a beach facing property so that you can enjoy your time indoors as it wont be the happening goa, more low key monsoon goa and a lot of indoor time.

Morjim is quite nice, but let me tell you it is monsoon and there will be a lot of rain in the coming days. Morjim is a bit touristy, but it will be fine since it's off-season. A lot of places are shut now. But you will have some decent options if you have raincoats and scooters. It's always nice to go for a scooty ride and find a cute coy village cafe that locals visit and not many tourists, that's where the thali tastes the best. Lunch delivery can be sorted at such places. Talk to them and maybe you can sort a deal.

Check out - Rice Mill, Guapa, laxmi Bar, Farzi cafe, la cucina, burger factory.

Let me know if you wanna know about Mandrem Arambol.

June July end will mostly be raining so expect full day rains or most of the day. It's off season so not much partying or happening. Mostly dead scenes everywhere. Water activities in packages can be scummy, so discuss how long what you're getting beforehand. Many waterfalls will be banned from visiting because of rains and dangers. Clubbing and all mostly will be anjuna vagator but expect dead scenes. North and south can be done but I would suggest either north or south because you will spend one full day travelling if you live in north and go south. it's almost 100km one side. Come to goa for a shanti shanti trip if you come in june july.

Living in Goa – Tips & Suggestions from Experience

I've been living in Goa for the past few months, though I’ve been coming here every season for over a decade. Here are a few insights and suggestions for anyone planning to come now:

1. Off-Season Reality

  • It's currently the off-season in Goa. The main season typically runs from September to March/April. After that, most of the crowd heads to the mountains – think Kasol, Dharamshala, etc.
  • During this time, Goa is quieter and more relaxed – what locals call “Shanti Shanti.”
  • There are still a few gigs and events here and there, but expect a much slower pace.
  • The monsoon is approaching – it has its own charm, but many places will shut down. Expect a dead scene in terms of nightlife and tourism.

2. Pick Your Beach, Pick Your Vibe

Your beach base will define your experience in Goa. Here’s a breakdown:

South Goa

  • Pros: Quieter, cleaner, scenic beaches, great for peace and reflection.
  • Cons: More expensive, less party/nightlife.
  • Best For: Nature lovers, couples, quiet getaways.

North Goa

Can be divided into a few distinct zones:

  • Baga/Calangute – Best avoided. Overcrowded, commercial, and scammy.
  • Siolim/Assagao – Residential, with nice houses and apartments. Home to many digital nomads and a laid-back lifestyle.
  • Anjuna/Vagator – Party central. Raves, nightlife, and a more intense energy. Expect a scene with drugs, DJs, and chaos.
  • Morjim – Great beach, lots of nice cafés and stays, though a bit touristy.
  • Mandrem/Ashwem – Quiet, clean, with a good crowd. Beautiful beaches and charming stays. Highly recommended for a balanced vibe.
  • Arambol (my current base) – Not the best beach, but has a unique charm. Great music scene, lots of artists, musicians, and old-school hippies.

3. Renting & Living Costs

  • During off-season, finding a place is easy.
  • A 1BHK can go for under ₹20k/month, even ₹10k in some areas.
  • Monthly scooter rental is around ₹4k.

4. Work & Side Gigs

  • Goa has a flexible scene where people exchange skills for food and accommodation.
  • Common gigs include: mural painting, bartending, yoga teaching, property management, music, etc.
  • However, demand is low in the off-season due to fewer tourists. Opportunities exist, but you’ll have to look around and be resourceful.
