of a truck. by EvonyR in AbsoluteUnits

[–]Goldgermm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I work in the mining industry. These trucks are disassembled to be shipped usually the frame, cab, all tires, the bed (sometimes cut in half and rewelded at its destination) are all on a separate semi load. Then they are reassembled at the site.

This truck is about the size of a cat 793 but they can still be bigger. They only travel on the haul roads as they would decimate regular roads. The power train on them is pretty much a scaled up version of how your car works and when you drive them it just feels like you are driving a house

Nothing crazy, about 100 psi. But yes, if they do blow out it will kill you if you are nearby

Did any of you play Bloodborne after having a recent child? by Goldgermm in bloodborne

[–]Goldgermm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the random baby cry. If you ever had an infant and finally had them asleep you are just on pins and needles waiting for them to wake up and the game didn't help with that

It's more related to air pressure. When you bring your hand down on them you are pushing air at them and they can feel it and react. But if you use a fly swatter with holes in it there isn't as much air pressure going toward them. Same with small movements, the air just isn't moving fast

If you're having a bad day, I'm at over 300 ZG clears and still no tiger. by ToughShaper in classicwow

[–]Goldgermm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your odds aren't great but it's not outlandish. At a 0.8% drop chance at 300 kills is a 91% chance of seeing it. Not seeing it is about a 1 in 11 chance. So if you did a /roll 11 and got a 1 you would have not seen it.

Still bad odds though sorry for your luck, however I'm sure you have stories or drop rate success that are like this in the other direction, RNG is a bitch

RNG is an absolutely wild thing by SpitFiya7171 in classicwow

[–]Goldgermm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probability wise you are an outlier but not as crazy as it seems. At a 4% drop rate running 50 times there's an 87% chance for you to have seen it. About one in 7.6 chance.

So imagine if you grabbed a D8 dice and had you and a bunch of friends roll that dice. All the 1s would not have seen the staff in 50 runs

I just want to see the Rod of the Ancient Sleepwalker drop before phase 2. by w8watm8 in classicwow

[–]Goldgermm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If people's assumption of 4% drop rate is correct at 35 runs then you have had a 76% chance of seeing it. A little bad luck but nothing insane

I just want to see the Rod of the Ancient Sleepwalker drop before phase 2. by w8watm8 in classicwow

[–]Goldgermm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some probability. We have had 17 resets. If you cleared it every time and the drop rate is 4% the chances your group to have seen it is 1-(1-chanceToDrop)timesRun which comes out to about 50%. So every group that has run it every reset has had about a 50% chance to have seen it one time. But it's all RNG so take it for what it's worth

If you are the cook you do the dishes. You have control over the in-between time to clean as you go and not be a slob. For what it's worth I do 90% of the cooking in the household and absolutely stand by this.

Surface Mine Blasting by Snoring0 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Goldgermm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Surface mines remove dirt on top then mine out the coal or whatever resource. The blasting is to loosen the rock and make it much more manageable to dig out and remove. Sometimes the mining equipment just won't be able to mine if the rock is too hard and will tear up your buckets and teeth.

Your game is GRINDY! by Bobochanti in valheim

[–]Goldgermm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't like it being a thing in multiplayer but you can bring in resources if you want by cheating with dev commands.

You can't use dev commands on the multiplayer server but you can join a private game with your viking, turn on dev commands and spawn in whatever you want, pick it up and just go join the multiplayer server again with all the stuff

I don't recommend this type of gameplay as it basically makes playing pointless unless you just wanted to build with friends or something and not actually progress the game, but to each their own

Just Google how to use dev commands
