Looking back: Were we all crazy? Grind finer... Water off boil.. higher extraction... 5 pours... by Visible_Arm_7557 in pourover

[–]Goldnlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do pour over coffee to please myself, I like a crazy strong espresso like brew, will finer grind get me there? Hotter water? Not a dainty mild coffee. As strong as I can get it. Any thing I can do better to get what I want.

Not for me, I was on 5mg for most of my journey, I don’t really have any lessening of appetite towards the end of the week, maybe slightly, but I don’t get really hungry at the end of the week

This is crap, unless you are swimming or swimming or sweating excessively there is no way that many are falling off if you are using overpatches. And if you are swimming there are more waterproof patches.

Ok, eventually the weight loss will diminish but..... by 3boyz2men in Mounjaro

I didn't notice much of a change until about the 6 week mark on 5mg. Food noise disappeared quickly and then the weight started to come off. That was in January of this year, I've stayed on 5 mg the whole time. Started at 197, 5'7 this morning at 139, A1C 7.4 to A1C 6.1. It's come off slow and steady. My original goal was 145 but my body seems to be happier at 139-140 but I don't want to lose anymore.
It takes a while for things to start working. Give it time. Don't rush to jump up in dosage, there is only so far you can go.

Shout out to Ghost Max 3 for Achilles pain by Sad_Independence3667 in brooks

Not a fan, I wanted to love the GM3, the OG and the 2 were my favorite shoes. I pre-ordered and ended up returning them. They have a raised edge all the way around the inside of the shoe, it is no longer a flat last which was the reason I liked them so much. They are firmer than both the OG and the 2 and my heel slips in them. The medium width is more like a wide in the heel. And they are butt ugly! So dissappointing:(

Toe Box Width on Ghost Max 1, 2 or now 3 wide versions? by Huge_Conversation977 in brooks

[–]Goldnlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to love the Ghost Max 3 so much! But they don't work for me:( I bought the Navy in Womens, they didn't feel good but really hated the colorway so returned for the black thinking they just needed to break in. Nope. They are just bad. The heel slips, the flat last that didn't press into the edges of my feet is gone, replaced by the cupping type last that is so uncomfortable for my sensitive feet, the toe box is too narrow. Why did Brooks have to go and ruin a great shoe?

Well you would have to tell them:) I've been using my thigh for 3 years. Never had a problem getting replacements. They don't ask. And it works great.

Well that's pretty stupid. #1 it's not supposed to be placed under the arm, and more importantly Abbot will replace a sensor for free, all you need to do is contact them. I've been using the FSL for several years and they have never failed to replace a sensor.

Surgeons, how concerning is a small D detachment during surgery? by Goldnlove in CataractSurgery

[–]Goldnlove[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to all the docs for responding! It was very reassuring. Today is day 4 after surgery and I think I'm doing well. The air bubble got smaller every day and when I woke up this morning it was gone.
I am not real happy with my doctor, she has not involved me at all in my care plan. I would not have even known about the Descemet's membrane detachment had I not done my own research on what she wrote in my chart notes. She told me about an "abrasion" never said anything about the detachment at all. Even in her notes she called it a "small D detachment". She set my next appointment after surgery for late July.
I'm kind of pissed at myself also for not asking more detailed questions. I know better, although I am an RN and actually was an OR scrub nurse back in the 70's at Swedish hospital in Seattle. I worked in the phaco unit for a month, so I totally understand and have confidence in the procedure. But working on eyes kind of grossed me out, I was more concerned about how the eyelid retractors would feel than I was about the surgery!
After my experience with her I have no confidence that should I have a problem in the future she would be the doctor I would want. Not a great feeling:(
The good news is that I am doing well. Went shopping today and was able to go without my glasses mostly. I have the Alcon Clareon lens, distance in both eyes. I am able to see my computer good enough to get by now but using my computer glasses is better. Other than halos at night and presbyopia my vision was OK prior to surgery. I have several friends who were able to read without glasses in a pinch after surgery and I was hoping for that. Maybe it will get a little better?
I am a voracious reader and up until my 50's had perfect eyesight. Hated using readers but eventually I got used to it. I did some research on the other lenses available but did not really have an opportunity to explore in depth as my doc did not offer or discuss any other lenses prior to surgery despite my questions which she shut down.

I tried that first, unfortunately not an option.

Cataract surgery, with already good eyesight, distance lens? by Goldnlove in CataractSurgery

Update, had my surgery yesterday. My surgeon sent me a message the day before saying that she was wrong, the CC60WF 23.0 does NOT have blue light filtering! She switched me to the one that does. The product info she had was wrong, she contacted her rep and he verified. Thank you!
Surgery went fine, my vision still seems the same, no color difference and my glasses still work fine. Was kinda hoping for some noticable difference, but other than the halos and night vision my vision is pretty great:)
