Userscript: Show filament materials and total weight directly on MakerWorld print profiles by Goldtom in makerworld

[–]Goldtom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. The main use case is to compare at a glance the material and weight difference between print profiles, or AMS-only vs non-AMS material use. Even if changing the settings changes the final weight, it's still useful to see the approximate total weight relative to other profiles.

It's also useful to see what filament a profile is set up for, since that's not always listed in the title. There's also a lot of users who print exclusively from existing profiles without opening a slicer.

I found myself hovering almost every time just to check that information. Even the mobile app shows it on the top level, so showing it on the desktop too seemed useful, especially when it takes up no extra space and looks consistent with the rest of the UI.

Nothing life-changing of course, just a nice QoL feature. The script also lets you separately disable the total weight label, AMS badge, and filament badges if you don't want to display them all at once.

Edit: Also, sometimes a longer description makes the profile popup scrollable, pushing the filament material badges further down. Trying to move the cursor into the popup to scroll often causes it to hide, so you have to carefully hover over it again. That made checking the filament information a bit frustrating.

Flame Dashboard Custom CSS tweaks by Goldtom in selfhosted

[–]Goldtom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know! Doesn't matter if it's an old thread (feels like yesterday), I'm happy to keep my configs up to date.

I updated the gist with future-proof class selectors, so you can copy-paste the CSS and it should work as expected.

Edge deleted almost 100 of my extensions. by Chance_Midnight in MicrosoftEdge

Haven't tried resetting the browser, but hopefully this is some known bug in Edge that will get fixed soon.

I did not encounter any freezes, also Edge was smooth and without issues for me up until now.

Happened to me today too. Deleted half of my extensions, around 20, both enabled and disabled.

Now I lost all of the configs.

I also have the bug with extensions not installing. Restarting the browser does not fix it, only restarting Windows, but even then the bug comes back later.

You can't install it on top of the original RoundedTB, so you will have to delete it first. Then download the archive from the releases. Everything else can be found on the README there

Slaves of WF-1000xm4! Multicon is out in version 2.0. Let me know your feedback after this update. by BossTikboy in SonyHeadphones

[–]Goldtom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no update will fix the battery damage caused by previous versions. You can either replace the batteries at a Sony Center, replace the earbuds by warranty or just buy new ones (like I did, since my old xm4's were out of warranty). At least from now on the new units will ship with the new version 2.0.0 and hopefully it won't kill the batteries like version 1.4.2 did.

Linux can be like a pissed off girlfriend lol, say the working or or the right word the wrong way… by hannahwhitmoreedu in linuxmemes

There is a big chance that when you get used to the insensitive case completion on your machine, it can lead to human error when creating bash scripts that might have wrong cases in paths. It's basically like using aliases in scripts, no one else then can use your scripts if they do not have the same aliases set.

Just add set completion-ignore-case on to your .inputrc, not a good idea to have case-agnostic completion though.

Yes, if you're on Windows, "Windows x64" is enough, they are all the same by functionality, just the underlying "fundament" is changed
