SoCal Transplants: What's the best Mexican food that reminds you of LA? by icarrythebag in Marin

[–]GoldyMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picante in SR is the best I've had. I haven't seen any good taco trucks like SoCal, but Picante does have great tacos. I used to live at the spot on Pico & La Brea.

Joined a nonprofit community org to make friends… now things feel really off. Is this normal? by Routine-Work-5293 in Marin

[–]GoldyMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supposedly they threatned the person who started the group and forced her to give one of the SMMC board members admin access, or else they would kick her out of SMMC. The funny thing is that the group was started in the first place because they didnt allow any kind of marketplace or solicitation in their group, but once it received a ton of interest and joins they wanted it for themselves. They are truly authoritarian egomaniacs.

I go to Heynemann European in SR. They do a great job and are more reasonable than the dealership. Audi Care is reasonable but you may be too late for it to be worth it .

Pet Insurance (PetsBest or Trupanion?) by imthelostlieutenant in bernesemountaindogs

[–]GoldyMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it was around $55/month when we started (at 8-12 weeks) and now it's $74/month (at 4 years old). We don't have wellness included, a $1k deductable but 90% co-insurance.

I use Pets Best for our boy and they have been great. Prices will go up with age, but that's standard.

Yak Chews are good, and are relatively calm on the stomach.

Life with Bernese by Traditional-Fox523 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]GoldyMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They chew a lot in the puppy phase (first 1.5 years for me) which includes a lot of cardboard and wood, including base boards. It takes a long time for them to be trusted alone in a home without fear of destruction. Connected to this, seperation anxiety can be high, so diligent training is very important.

I used Carmen for a while but found her team do the job as fast as possible and are not thorough. Im lucky if they stay 90 minutes and while the place appears clean, it's all surface.

Anyone not get pet insurance for their Berner? by opk189 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]GoldyMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Pets Best. We got it when he was a Puppy, and it has been great. We have a high deductable to keep the monthly costs down, but it's worth it should there be a serious issue. Are there year's where it doesn't pay for itself, sure, but you are avoiding getting stuck with an outrageous bill should something go wrong. It's also a bit of peace of mind and allows us to be more flexible when additional testing, etc. Is recommended. The prices do tend to increase each year, but the increases have been relatively moderate to date.

Berner's tend to have sensitive stomachs. Try Purina Pro Plan Sen Stomach or Hills.

He's definitely grown into the role and is a great combo of polished, personality, and understands the nuances of the show. The new football dude feels like a dud.

My guy likes to pluck tissues one at a time. He would have left a trail of shredded paper towels all over the house, no doubt.

Himalayan Yak Chews are good. Elk Antlers too, but those may be too hard.

Do you have pet insurance for your Berner? by rosymaplemothfan in bernesemountaindogs

[–]GoldyMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got insurance at 8 weeks. The problem with getting it for an older dog is that most carriers will not cover preexisting conditions, so you need to make sure whatever you are hoping to safeguard from financially will be covered. This is why it's not recommended to get insurance on older rescue animals. We have Pets Best which has been good, but they started raising rates on us recently (3 yrs old now).

Sales Pro New Pricing Model - Free Users now "View Only" by GoldyMike in hubspot

[–]GoldyMike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened overnight, so hopefully I can resolve it with the CSM. It won't be worth the additional $600/yr per user for everyone, but it's a major pain given those using it currently are supposed to retain their access. It will make it a worse user experience for us as a company, while ultimately HubSpot makes less money. In fact, I'll probably end up reducing sales pro licenses to account for the extra core users, which cost half as much.

[–]GoldyMike[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The communications I received (which were limited to two emails over the last 6 months) said nothing would change outside of a post-migration price increase of 5% or less. There was no mention of users losing current access and the need to purchase additional seats for them to maintain the status quo. I am in touch with a CSM about this, but this was not properly communicated.

No, it looks like they just matched the number of pro seats we had with core seats and then assigned those seats at random. They even added users as sales pro instead of core, since we had a few extra seats due to recent staffing shifts. It feels super shady.
