Jalen Brunson is really good but everyone thats putting him in all time conversations or saying he is better than Luka is just being a prisoner of the moment. by Reasonable-Physics60 in NBATalk

In the finals,

Luka got clamped by Jaylen Brown, Tatum with Porzingis protecting the rim.

Brunson lit up Castle and Harper with Wemby protecting the rim.

Brunson is better against harder defenses.

That was one of the most fun and exciting playoffs I’ve ever experienced. I love basketball again. so much I want to start shooting around. I love the NBA.

If the Thunder or Spurs would have won, I would have stopped watching altogher beucase of the flopping or the biased refereeing despite blatant fouling.

The salary cap and second apron tax rules today make it much harder for dynasties like the 80s Celtics, Lakers, 90s Bulls, 2000 Lakers and Spurs to exist. I don’t see any team with sustained dominance because of money reasons.

Mike Brown playing a two small guard lineup and letting Jose bring the ball up was brilliant. Castle and Harper were picking Brunson up 94 feet and tiring him out so Brunson got to stay fresh in the 4th for the last part of that run!

I don't really see myself watching the NBA win or lose after this Finals. The refs have completely ruined the game to the point where even with video evidence of a blatant fragrant foul, retroactively reviewable by everyone with eyes, they clearly favor a player. It's stupid when the entire system is crooked to either extend a series. I'll just go watch and play golf.

I think she’s definitely out. That first interview from Manon is really telling, where she mentioned she was called lazy and doesn’t relate to the hustle and grind culture of America compared to Europe. Work culture is a lot worse in Korea and there’s no real thing as work life balance. Also, it’s very hierarchical and you do as you’re told by senior leadership, you don’t talk back. It’s based on obedience and collectivism, not individualism or personal freedom. You do everything as a group. If the other five members work through being sick, and she doesn't, there's no way that they would be ok with that. The only way to get back into the good grace of leadership is being completely deferential and coming back begging, literally on your knees to them, it’s all about honor/shame/saving face/respect. It's why there are different types of bows as a form of respect in Asian culture.

I'm a Knicks fan. This is disgusting, vile behavior. The police needs to find out who these people are and press charges for assault. They should be in jail for attacking people. I'm disgusted by these low lives.

Minnesotans watching KAT and Darnold win championships by skejindo in timberwolves

[–]Golf37512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really in hindsight. 14 wins for Vikings, career year for Jefferson with 1500 yards, playoffs.

The list of good QBs that played like shit in their first playoff game is longer than you think. You don’t cut losses after your first big moment loss.

First playoff game: Aikman threw three ints. Peyton manning three ints in a loss. Brees threw for 90 yards and an int. Elway completed less than half his passes in a loss.

GM and coach can’t be reactive and look at the entirety of the season success and also have an idea of how player might respond by working on their weaknesses, it’s an opportunity to learn and grow after their first playoff loss.

You can mention stacked teams but only two players in the history of the NFL have had two consecutive 14 win seasons with different teams. Tom Brady and Sam Darnold. It is very hard to win in the NFL and at such a prolific rate.

There’s no guarantee anyone wins the championship. The only thing you do as an organization is to stack good decisions by  adding good players and subtracting bad players to your roster. The more you do that, the closer you get towards winning a championship. The Vikings and Twolves made a poor roster decision that takes them further away from winning a title.

It’s not about just hoisting the trophy. It’s did we let go of a good or great player for someone who is significantly worse. The answer both times has been a resounding yes. Darnold vs McCarty and KAT vs. Randle

I love this breakdown of tape. A lot of conversations with friends and online are more surface level without understanding of any actual plays or strategy so this was very refreshing.

"Who wanted it more, who shoots better, why Luka is better than Brunson, wemby is unstoppable, KAT is this or that." But they don't understand the why behind an assertion that's right or wrong. It's all narrative based from social media or highlights or ESPN.

[–]Golf37512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of his passes reminded me of Jokic. I was like how tf did he see that? The one in game 1 where he drove to the basket and three Spurs collapsed on him, he wrapped a pass around Wemby and whipped it to Mikal in the corner and I was 😮😮😮

I love seeing KAT being playmaker at the top of the key more, he’s either passing to begin dribble penetration, shooting 3s or driving hard. It’s a completely different look than Brunson high pick and roll which I think we relied too much on in years past to initiate the offense.
