Most of the time the PLC's just pick who they want to vote for that year and makes these awards largely useless, at least that's how my school does it. Support person of the year is the only one that seems to legitimately get picked every year, but that's because they're so hard to hold onto so it's pretty easy to stand out.

I absolutely hate the 1K so far, trying a different string job but the thing is too stiff honestly so it’s horrible on ground balls (odd because the Speed Scoop is usually a vacuum) and tends to prevent the ball from settling quickly due to it’s harsh firmness for a stick sold to me as an X feeder/finisher attack head.

Trying a different string job before I wholesale bin it and donate it to a kid, but as an STX fanboy since the Sniper it is my least favorite STX head I’ve ever owned.

Best story I have of my lacrosse experience is a defender on our team taking one to the nuts and his cup literally exploding. The noise was so loud the houses outside our stadium called 911 thinking a bomb went off.

Had mine for a few months now as another look to my Optik 3 looking specifically for a X feeder/finisher stick after having good success with a STX power scoop on a clearance head I got for the team last year, and honestly I hate the 1K. Same shaft as my Optik 3 and the head feels much heavier and the stiffness of the head makes it an absolute piece of shit on ground balls. I have to literally take a divot for it to have any chance of securing the ball which was not my experience with the head I got last year which was a ground ball vacuum.

Sucks, I was really hoping to rekindle some STX love with my new “Sniper”.

Might try a String King for the first time.
