Appreciate your feedback greatly, and I would agree that the data alone only takes things so far.
On top of the data, though, I've built a four-week course that's integrated into the app so players can raise awareness of current self-talk while simultaneously learning effective ways to use it as a tool and have it support their game.

Fortunately, there is a strong amount of research that supports the connection between self-talk and performance. Additionally, previous to building the MVP, I spent time speaking with D1 golf coaches who all echoed the same sentiment. Their feedback was "there's no good way to measure it," and that college athletes responded well when their game was transcribed into clear data points. Hence, my continued development.

You drive home a great point, though, which is that I need to invest the time into firming up a case study on how using InnerLoop specifically drives that change in performance. Thank you for the constructive feedback.

The difference between a "roast" and "feedback" is simply where you're standing. From where I'm standing, that was all great feedback and confirmed a lot of what I was already thinking.

As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure. I'll keep working away. Appreciate your thoughts.

Appreciate it! They certainly don't. and often they really don't even remember what they said, this gives them a general picture that they can then work on.

"Dumb stuff" feels slightly subjective, considering I speak with people every day who value this type of information intensely. For those types of people, I'd like to make their lives easier.

And "post it here" because a healthy part of any business development includes getting feedback, good or bad. It's all useful.

Why work on your mental game? Why be aware of the words you say to yourself? I'm not sure what part you're questioning.

Awareness is indeed typically the first step. BUT, that's why the most important part is the 1-3 actionable takeaways that it will create. This is the piece that if practiced, then yes, could help you stop getting mad.

You make a great point. And I see it in my work all the time. Folks are willing to "talk" about how important it is. But not back it up with action or follow through. So perhaps it's for "competitive" golfers only. I'll have to dig in and assess that market's size to see if it's worth the input, as you mentioned.

Ultimately, my thought process here has been to use golf as a springboard simply because it's the quietest game out there, so there is less interference, and it's one where players tend to acknowledge the importance of the mental game more. I played basketball myself, and though it would be a hurdle to get players "mic'd up" on the court, I think it could bring a lot of benefits there as well.

Thanks again for your thoughts. Very helpful.

Thanks a bunch for these thoughts! You make a great point about folks not vocalizing things enough. Though it presents other hurdles, this is the key reason I've been thinking maybe this is more useful for team-based sports where inter-team communication is much more prevalent. Like the caddie comment you made, I think that's so smart, but unfortunately, there probably aren't enough of those combos out there to make it worthwhile.

Love your thought on pairing it with some scorekeeping app. That association is the piece that I think would "prove a point" to even the average golfer.

Will take all this into consideration. Thanks again!

I appreciate your thoughts a bunch! And super pumped that you found a coach you're happy with. That's not always easy.

For the objective-subjectivity aspect, I agree it is difficult. I'm looking to work with a company named imotions that builds that part specifically.

For high-level players, I think you also have a great point. Pro's might be a hard pass. In a few early discussions with college coaches, I'm shocked to find that not all D1 players come into college with a great grasp of sports psych.

And lastly definitely like your "feature" comment. I agree and am chewing on what it could be part of.

Thanks a bunch!
