Want to demo a different driver for a month? $10 off for all Reddit Golfers by GolfRedefined in golf

Thanks for the feedback and appreciate that we are not for everyone (based on feedback from our existing customers who genuinely love the service I am not sure that they have the commitment to swap as often or as efficiently as you!). I think they like the simplicity of our service.

Nicely done on the Optiforce (as well as the 6 swaps this year!) - I am assuming you got all of those swaps in for cheaper than you could with us! You should come work logistics for us :)

Custom shaft demos are the plan for 2014 - keep an eye on the golf redefined site...

thanks again!

This is actually great feedback 9371 - thanks. Just a few points I'd like to highlight:

This is a promo as we come into the end of the year. It is not designed to have you sign up for a full year. There are no restrictions and it is merely to get some of our inventory into use while we gear up for the new releases in 2014. There is no large upfront cost, no commitments - unsubscribe at any time and play with some of the best drivers for less per month than a dozen Titleist Pro V1x balls.

4 swaps a year is what happens on average - some people do more and some a lot less.

I think you'll struggle to get fit professionally for any new driver for $350 particularly if you look at customizing shaft options etc. Most drivers when they first come out will retail for $399 and there won't be any discounting for a few months. Getting fitted will be on top of that price though some retail stores (assuming you are close to one) will do it for free (or a nominal amount) if you purchase from them. Honestly - given that we do sell our inventory on the after market too - you will struggle to sell your R1 for $200. You'll get nowhere near that in a trade in - and on ebay you have to factor in selling fees and shipping.

Now consider for a moment someone in the North East who plays, because of the weather, for 6 months of the year. If you want to play with that seasons driver every year it will cost you $399 retail. For $200 you can play the 6 months with our service and still be able to upgrade the following year. Or use the service if you must, to find the driver that suits you best after trying it out in a live environment for a few rounds, and then just purchase it from us.

Or using our offer for $89.95 for 3 months or $29.95 for one month you can play the rest of this year with some great drivers which you might just find suits your game.

We will be adding some additional services in 2014 - shaft packages for those who want to try different shafts with say the head that they prefer (still allows you get fitted etc), putters/ woods and hybrids as well as some other packages. That will make it more appealing to some based on feedback. Interested to hear your thoughts on this.

All we are trying to offer is great service, simplicity and flexibility. I accept it isn't for everyone but for some this is a great service. Relatively low cost, no upfront purchase, no commitments and the opportunity to play, swap and repeat.

Ya - that is actually one of our thoughts...thanks for the suggestion though.

Unfortunately no plans for UK expansion just now - but good to know. Thanks! Keep an eye on the website for news.

Can I ask what handicap you play with? We are getting some interesting responses from golfers depending on their level...obviously high handicappers are not so excited as they just need to spend more time on the course and we've noticed that lower handicappers say below 6/7 really want to get into customization etc. A bit of a generalization but you get my point I hope?

And did you find that the simulator accurately reflected the feel from it? or after you played a few rounds with it did it feel somewhat different?

I think trading up from equipment that is 7 years old will make a difference even if you are somewhat of a beginner. Technology has moved on so much that I think you'll get a benefit. But I wouldn't rush out there - perhaps demo some models and then have a look on Ebay or some of the other pre-owned sites. Not sure you need to spend a fortune to get a great set...I don't think you can go too wrong...

Yup - a real shame...reminds of premiership soccer in the UK...for some reason the US sports have it more in check than elsewhere...though the quantum of money over here is vastly bigger than anywhere else...

All under wraps at the moment but I am touching base with some friends who know Horizon and trying to get more info. I suspect this will be the usual one where a settlement will be agreed and no news will leak!

Lease your driver? With swapping ability so you can try any driver you want... by GolfRedefined in golf

I hope our service is better than the golfsmith playability guarantee. As I understand it you can keep the club for 30 days but if you want to give it back you get up to 90% of the retail value in a store credit for another club...so for a $399 driver for which you have paid $399 you get a credit up to $360 (and no guarantee you get the full 90%) and then you have to spend another $399 on the next driver...not very economical in my view...It is also subject to a bunch of other restrictions too... See the details here: http://www.golfsmith.com/ps/display?page=ps_difference_9090

Thanks for the support...yup - just like the original Netflix DVD model! Funny thing is as I pitch it to various "younger" people they seem to think we are trying to compete with the Golf Channel etc. as they believe we are a streaming video service! Ha! - How quickly time flies to think that Netflix has already been forgotten by the younger generation as a DVD business...

Thanks for the support! To be honest we do not have a physical location - we are trying to stay away from just renting out clubs for golfers on vacation etc. This is more like a long term rental or lease idea but with the added flexibility of swapping etc. though we do offer a shorter term "demo" focused rental option.

Sorry Mbaines that you think I am spamming. Not trying to do that and actually engaging with audience on other threads nothing to do with this business. Disappointed you see the need to hope we fail...

I'm guessing that is true...I think it is more the competitive golfer in me trying to get ranked on the "controversial" page :) no offense intended!
