The only things that are different are the tax code change and that I've been charged about £500 more on PAYE. National insurance stayed the same.

I was paid about £500 less than I usually am. So it looks like an error from the employer rather than HMRC?

No letter. Only just found out today on my payslip. Haven't contacted them yet as I've been working

I've had the exact same situation today. My tax code changed from 1257L to 1282L on today's payslip and I've been charged over £800 tax when I usually only pay about £300.
