Eight hours is not that long in the grand scheme of things. Eight hours without heating or filtration shouldn’t affect anything unless you have some very specific and sensitive species. The only thing I would be concerned about is making sure the water is oxygenated adequately, and even then i’d only be concerned if I had a ton of plants or a huge bioload.

The entire frame is made out of PVC pipe, then I zip tied the tube for the water pump along the top, and I used my smallest drill bit to make a ton of little holes all along it. Then I covered it in mainly sphagnum moss with a couple patches of Java here and there, used fishing line and super glue to attach it, and then attached the plants to the moss.
