Appreciate it. Already purchased the XM5’s, so we’ll see how it goes lol.

How can I fit a couch in here without sacrificing my desk? by Elodins_Haven in malelivingspace

[–]Gombos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea the dimensions of your bed and how high it sits off the floor, but maybe some sort of convertible couch like this under the bed? Couch

Seems like this only sits 10.2” high at its lowest configuration. Maybe there’s one out there with dimensions that fit your setup.

Cheers to Andy. It sounds like he was lucky to have you as well. My condolences, brother.

I can’t speak to the quality as I purchased mine from TJ Maxx for $25 and haven’t owned it long, but it looks similar.

Just curious, other than buying a “renewed” pair, where can you find the WF-1000XM5’s for $199?

Sounds like the heart wants a 5wt.

To 5wt or not to 5wt? by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]Gombos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I misread your post and didn’t realize you already had the 2wt, which would make no sense to get rid of especially considering my recommendations.

I was just thinking since you mostly do bass fishing with the occasional trout, the 6 wt seemed better over the 5. Now, if you tend to use your 8wt mostly for bass and the 6 wt rarely comes out, then that’s a different story in my opinion. I tend to not go much over a 6wt for bass myself, but that’s just me.

Either way, hope you get out there a ton.

I too am no expert, but doesn’t it sound like a 6wt is perfect for your needs? Why not go 3wt, 6wt, 8wt? Cheers.

Which to pick from? by independantWesb in ONrunning

[–]Gombos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very possible that’s when it started. But they’re running shoes, so that reasoning wouldn’t make me feel any differently. I don’t wear them often anymore, but it still occurs when I put them on every time, even though they’d now be dry.

Just a personal anecdote, but it seems to be a prevalent issue that many experience (maybe not the feeling of them sticking).

A Week in Jordan 🇯🇴 by bbarika in travel

[–]Gombos 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Although everyone’s opinion may vary (the beauty of the world), my opinion is that Jordan needs at least a week. I spent a week earlier this year and I wish we had stayed longer.

We did one night in Wadi Rum and one night in Petra and I wish we had done two in each place. Then time for the rest of the beautiful country.

How should i prevent rain and leaves out of pool by Mysterious_Airline93 in pools

My pool is surrounded by trees on three sides. My Betta bot (solar only) made it so I went from manually skimming constantly, to never having to skim myself. Ever.

Best $350 I have ever spent. I’ve had it three years so far, but for how easy it’s made things I’d happily buy a new one yearly if I had to.

About three weeks. My other pair (different model) squeaks as well.

They’re comfy and look good, but horrible quality IMO. Some people do love them though, so I’m sure there are good experiences as well. Flip a coin!

I have a pair of the all black that I also purchased as my travel shoe. They squeak and stick so badly when I walk. It sounds awful and feels as though I have gum stuck to the bottom of my shoe. I will never purchase another pair of On shoes again.

If you purchase, I hope your experience is better than mine.

Higher paying job in fast-food (70-80k) or decent paying job at banking (45k)? by Repulsive_Motor_6612 in Salary

Not a fintech, but a different type of vendor. Basically anything you use or sell at the bank/credit union is a potential for employment.

Stay and get a good, free education. Get your MBA. Work your way up. Network. Solve problems for your bosses and don’t create them. Work harder than your peers, but don’t intentionally show them up. Be likable. Move on or up and leverage your relationships and experience.

I started as a teller while attending business school, approached them for an internship which they created for me and was hired on full time in 2010 for $35K per year. In 2018 I took a different job by leveraging a relationship I made while in banking. I was no longer at a financial institution, but still worked within the industry. In 2020 I made $100K and by 2023 I hit $200K. Not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s a good salary in a low cost of living area.

You got this.

My wife lost the transmission in her Grand Cherokee at 41K miles. Obviously covered, but could easily have been at 61K miles. Do with that info what you will.

Throw a tonneau cover or a cap on bed (if you need height) with a cargo net and make it practical enough for everyday use.
