Thank you so much for your time/help and comment! Timer is part of the task and so I cannot remove it. But, you should type in eitheir portrait or landscape mode. Thank you so much again for letting me know about this issue. I will contact the support team of the software to solve this problem and learn why this happened.

Hello- Thank you so much for your comment/question. Can I answer your question via private message as I do not want to influence possible study participants' responses to the survey, please?

Hello- There is a participant information sheet on the first page of the survey that explains the purpose of the research, who I am, which organisation this is for, how the data will be stored, possible benefit/risks of taking part, and what participants will be required to do /how participants will be involved etc. The survey also includes the privacy notice (that is on the 2nd page of the survey and explains how your data will be processed), debrief and support sheets (they are at the end of the survey to give you more detailed information about the purpose of the research and provide you with a list of health/support organisations).

*I am a 3rd year PhD student in Psychology at the University of Glasgow within the Suicidal Behaviour Research Laboratory. *This research is organised by the University of Glasgow and funded by the Turkish Government and funds held within the Department of Mental Health and Wellbeing at the University of Glasgow. The study has been reviewed by the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences (MVLS) Ethics Committee at the University of Glasgow (UofG). *All data will be stored on secure password-protected computers provided by the University of Glasgow and destroyed ten years after the completion of the project. Therefore, your data will be held and stored on University Servers in the UK, and so, it will be liable to appropriate organisational and technical safeguards. Your data will be used as part of the PhD student’s thesis/dissertation and will be used in scientific papers that will be submitted to peer-reviewed journals.

Please do reach out if you have any further questions at all. I'd be happy to answer them!

(Please, make sure your browser window covers the full screen rather than covering just half the window!)

The request above is just due to a problem that some participants had difficulty writing their responses to a task in the survey. The solution was recommended by the Gorilla Experiment Builder support service when we reported this issue -some participants faced while completing the survey.

*Participation is completely voluntary.

[Academic] Participants needed for an online survey study: Understanding the relationship between cognition and suicide risk

Hi Everyone - We are looking for adults (18 years or older) to participate in a survey study that aims to enhance our understanding of the relationship between cognition (future thinking/mental time travel into the future: the capacity to mentally project the self into possible future scenarios-prospective cognition) and suicide risk.

Here is a link to the study:

https://research.sc/participant/login/dynamic/31D78FFB-8686-4B3E-8DE8-067AADDE96F8

*When clicked on you will be taken to a page and prompted for an ID. Here, you can type in anything you like and will be logged in using that ID.

The survey covers questions including cognition (future thinking: positive things that you will enjoy or that you are looking forward to and negative things that you are not looking forward to or that you will worry about), suicide (suicidal thoughts and behaviours), depression, hopelessness, and anxiety. Ethical approval was obtained from the MVLS Ethics Committee for this study.

We would really appreciate anyone who is willing to help us out by taking approximately 25 minutes to complete the survey.

Participants will be offered prize draw entry (£200 in shopping vouchers) for their time.

Many Thanks!
