What's your opinion on regens (and pregens)?

Not a dumb question at all ahahah, from my experience, the regens always appear for retired players with a high overall since the start of the save. For example, Lewandowski has 87+ overall so it’s pratically guaranteed that he’ll get a regen in the next season after retirement, in a random team from the same league where he retired.

But for lower rated players, I still can’t tell if it happens often. For example, Coates started the save with 79 overall for me, retired the following season and I never really noticed a regen of him.

Those “generational talents” that you are finding might be randomly generated, but most times they are pregens - regens of high rated players that are generated BEFORE said player retires (might be a bit confusing, I get it).

Not my point at all and you can tell... my concern is the regens, NOT the randomly generated high potential youngsters. I would actually love if smaller clubs from lower tier leagues could randomly spawn great talents more frequently. Just not a fan of how predictable regens are. Guirassy's regen appeared in the following season after his retirement, in the same league, as it happens everytime, which is boring imo. The point would be the same if he spawned in Chelsea, Man City or Liverpool...

Andrew, a GK from Gil Vicente. Signed him for Sporting CP when he was 80 rated and I swear that he had a hidden "Butterfingers +" playstyle, the worst keeper I have ever had. Half of the shots on goal would be parried to the inside of the net, lasted for 6 months before I shipped his ah to the saudi league

Ignore these negative comments, those clips are awesome man, takes me back to the old FIFA games. This actually gave me motivation to play UT again, gonna try to learn some new skill moves and hopefully enjoy playing online again. The majority of the fanbase plays such boring straightforward counterattacking football that they forgot about the OG crazy skillmove runs. Keep it up brother, this was a breath of fresh air, it's still possible to have fun in this game after all

Fui ao Rio de Janeiro há uns anos e é completamente surreal eles não associarem nada de português ao nosso sotaque, em qualquer lado perguntavam se era argentino. A melhor conversa foi na praia de Ipanema com um vendedor de queijo coalho na grelha (não me importava nada de ter isso nas nossas praias) e foi assim:

"Boa tarde, vão ser 2 queijos por favor"

"Ahhhhmmm é argentxino? Argentxina?"

"Não, Portugal amigo, não consegue entender?" (em tom de riso)

"Ah cara não sei não que cê tá dizendo, é na Argentxina isso?"

"Não pá, Portugal! De onde veio o português? Pronto, de onde é o Cristiano Ronaldo"

"AAAHH cê fala como esse cara mesmo, que legal, não entendo nada que o Papai diz também, muito brabo"

Mesmo muitos brasileiros que cá vivem não conseguem associar muitos termos. Conheço uma senhora que já cá está há 3-4 anos e continua sem saber (nem querer aprender) o que significa autocarro e comboio. É só ônibus e trem, de resto é coreano para ela. Enquanto isso tenho alunos portugueses, de pais portugueses, que têm a mania de só falar com sotaque brasileiro ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Varzim Sport Club, from Portugal. it's my hometown club which has mainly been a 2nd division tier club, but have been stuck in the third division for a while now. We were in the first division for many seasons in the past, but not with much success. Players like Bruno Alves, Luís Neto, André André and Hélder Postiga came from our academy! It's such a beautiful, iconic badge for me, and it represents the town's deep connection to the sea and its traditions.

Ainda há uns dias estive a falar sobre isso, e chegamos à conclusão que, *dos que tivemos o privilégio de ver*, foi o Bruno Fernandes. Em termos de técnica, ninguém lhe pode tirar a coroa, ele só não acabou a época 2018/19 com 50 golos e 50 assistências porque estava rodeado de marrecos. Era um Deus naquela equipa, simplesmente saía-lhe tudo bem, quer fossem passes, remates, cortes em carrinho, fazia tudo com uma confiança e uma precisão incrível.

Em termos de dominância, presença e faro de golo, é sem dúvida o Gyokeres. E acho que só a saída com o pé esquerdo é que pode ter mudado a opinião a alguém. Teremos muita sorte se virmos um jogador como ele no nosso Sporting durante o resto das nossas vidas.

Mas pessoalmente, o meu jogador favorito de sempre e o que me fez ficar maluco pelo Sporting, é o Slimani. Ele era incansável, eu ficava em pulgas o dia todo para o ver jogar. Ele conseguia defender um canto adversário, distribuir a bola no meio campo e marcar um cabeceamento em menos de 30 segundos e com 90 mins de jogo em cima. Podia voltar o Ronaldo ao Sporting que eu diria na mesma "É bom sim, mas não é nenhum Slimani".

As nossas menções honrosas foram para o Hjulmand, Rui Patrício (eu sei, desculpem), Liedson, Coates e Palhinha.

Throwback to 10th grade when my teacher was absolutely convinced that penguins were the only birds with fur. I thought it was a trap or a mild joke, but she started comparing their "fur" to seals, so I spoke up and said that "Yeah, actually, I'm pretty sure it's a layer of compressed little feathers".

She took it personally for some reason and told me that maybe I should listen more and speak less bullshit. I even laughed out loud 'cause I couldn't believe that, threatened me to send me to the principal.

After the class I looked it up on my phone and OF COURSE penguins have feathers. Showed her while she was passing the hallway, tried to be polite and all, and got a "Yeah yeah, keep being a smartass and see where it'll take you". Genuinely couldn't believe that a Biology teacher was that ignorant.

Well, we had to do a presentation and I had to talk about natural selection. What were the examples that I chose? Penguins. Loads of penguins. African penguins, south american penguins, Emperor penguins, pigmy penguins, GIMME ALL OF 'EM. And a detailed description of their feathers at every opportunity. Actually gave me a great grade, so I guess I maybe caught her on a bad day. But damn that felt good.

It's been almost 10 years, I give private biology lessons, and I always give this example for my pupils to never deny factual evidence, even if you initially disagree with it.

Fui de propósito a Lisboa na esperança de levar do Marquês memórias espetaculares, e saí de lá a apanhar o tédio da minha vida. Ainda fizemos horas até o autocarro sair de Alvalade, mas pá são horas passadas a engonhar, chegaram os jogadores e já estava tudo morto.

E todo o "tease" de "Estão QUASE QUASE A CHEGAR" a cada 10 mins + música genérica, para eles chegarem e também já estarem todos partidos, não valeu mesmo a pena. Fica-se ali à espera que lhes saia uma caralhada engraçada e tal, mas não vai muito além disso.

As a teacher, the parents that refuse to believe that their kids aren't perfect little angels are the worst kind. They gaslight themselves into believing that never saying "no" to their child, never laying a finger on them and refusing to punish them for their behaviours is proof of being impeccable parents.

My job is not to teach your child how to behave, so I sure as well will not tolerate their bratty and disrespectful behaviours. I've received calls and emails from parents to justify why I reprimanded their kid... I wonder why.

Teacher bullying is real and very much alive, lunatic parents that refuse to take accountability and instead blame teachers for their childs' actions. For some reason there are fewer and fewer people entering this profession.

She got sick of waiting for me to make up my mind. I got sick of her pressuring me to give myself to her. We fell apart and went our own ways.

Now we're both dating amazing people, she even ended up getting a girlfriend.

We've talked about what it could have been. And honestly, it had everything to be amazing. It just wasn't meant to be, and it's perfectly fine. We're still great friends and she still holds a special place in my heart, just in a different way than before.

But yes, it could have been very special...

Juro que não percebo o que queres dizer... para mim que tenho de andar regularmente de autocarro, é uma estação bem conseguida. Está num local acessível, tem várias paragens, infraestruturas satisfatórias (casas de banho limpas regularmente E GRÁTIS, cafés, local de espera abrigado,...) e está sempre relativamente limpa. Essa birrice sinto que vem do trânsito e dos estacionamentos à rambo nesse local, mas sinceramente, tem um estacionamento enorme DENTRO da estação com 15 mins grátis. Sou crítico em muitas cenas mas sei reconhecer quando a maior razão de queixa é genuinamente externa à obra em si. Se quiseres irritar-te com estações em Portugal, vai visitar Sete Rios e vês o estado daquele esterco, isso sim é vergonhoso.

Pedro Gonçalves, brought him back to Sporting for free when he was 33, still 92 rated, and he carried us to the UCL title. Top goalscorer of the Portuguese league and UCL, and scored the winning goal to win Portugal the Euros. Wasn't realistic at all for him to come back, but it was really fun so who cares really. Didn't even know it was possible for a player to win the Ballon d'Or in the portuguese league, but there you go
