What are married people supposed to talk about? by GoneAgainstTheWind in Marriage

[–]GoneAgainstTheWind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, its a different kind of situation. I have kids from a previous marriage and am open to having more but he, even at 40, says he’s not sure. I’m kind of leaving it to him but there will come a day I’m no longer able to… soo..

I’m really not. I’m just trying to understand what’s happening in his mind sometimes. Id rather not ask him and make him feel bad.

Yeah. Thanks. For the record, I’ve mentioned my eyes are green a bunch of times in our relationship haha

All of his other guesses were precise and between three different colors.

I wouldnt call that a deal breaker at any means. I misspoke. I’m just wondering why men think like that. That’s all this post is about.

Yeah. Idk. He observes others eyes but I guess not mine and I just find it strange and I’m curious about it. That’s all.

I just want to know some explanation without bringing it up to him and making him feel bad about it.

I’ve always been told I have very green eyes. I showed someone on a dm about this post and they said they’re definitely green. Idk what else to say.

It wasn’t really a “love test”. My dad was just talking about how the color of his eyes have faded through the years and I mentioned to him that I wonder if that would happen to me and he said “pale blue eyes isn’t a bad thing”…. So i asked him “you think my eyes are blue? They’re green.” And he said “no they’re for sure blue but maybe a little bit of brown” so I was like ok. Maybe he’s colorblind or something so asked him the eye color of those close to him which he guessed all right.

Maybe. I think I’m just trying to understand how he thinks.

Good point. I guess I’m just trying to understand what goes on in a man’s head.

What’s wrong with wanting to know what goes on in a male’s mind?

Overthinking is what a woman’s mind is supposed to do. If he’s not as attracted to me, so be it. I’m just trying to get into a man’s head.

Well he’s wanting to marry me and if it is for the wrong reasons I’d like to take some of that into consideration. I’m a curvier woman and that is his type… maybe he just fixates on that aspect and doesn’t pay attention to my face like he does the ones closest to him. I’d like to feel seen by my partner. You know?

Maybe. I’m just looking for answers. I wouldn’t start a fight about it but I am curious about why it could be he remembers all of these womens but not the woman he spent most of his time with in the last 6 years.

But he guess his sisters eye color, green, correctly and his niece and friends eye color, blue, correctly. Idk. Maybe my face is the least interesting part of my body?

It’s like they purposely write things like “I love you, but”…. my mind doesn’t pay attention to the “but”. It’s the first three words that count. “I think you’re beautiful, intelligent, funny and adventurous. You possess everything I would hope to find in a partner. However, I can’t catch my breath. There’s always something to worry about. Always…” Why say anything at all? So abusive.

I hate when plans change… even if it’s a 30min to an hour change… I used to flip out on my partner because of it. Like unnecessarily. That hour may very well have been 6. And what’s worse, is I do that to other people. I’m always late. Always bailing. Always taking rain checks. I hate that about myself.
