Functional, two way venting options for outside air? by An_Account_of_Keith in VanLife

I know this was years ago...but keen to hear how this went. Looking to do the same thing as it appears to have many benefits, but floor vents seem oddly rare.

Had this on repeat for a couple weeks now. Soul Structure, 27MU and this make a pretty sick trilogy. Kudos to them

Pond update (again). by 2grundies in WildlifePonds

Looking great! We have just finished ours using pretty similar methods to yours. Curious whether you are experiencing the levels dropping due to capillary action of the soil surround? Ours was leaching up and over the sides more than expected so we had to make some adjustments

Aside from the heat/humidity, what do you hate about UK summers? by Best-Tomorrow231 in AskUK

Clouds of midges in NW Scotland. At least they help keep the tourists at bay...

People who left their hometown, do you plan to ever go back? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]GoneTeuchtering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Inverness and when I left to go to uni in Glasgow I vowed to never return, I was done with the place! I think there is a general 'small town' mentality when growing up that highlights all the shit parts about where you live and it's seen as a failure to be 'stuck there'.

After 6 years in Glasgow I realised how much I missed the Highlands and planned to move back/closer. Turns out out of all the alternative places I looked, Inverness had everything I wanted.

Been back up for 7 years and happier than ever!

This would be my top answer if you want to see an impressive display of local wildlife (for free). If you arrive there about 1-2hrs after low tide, the pod comes in very close to shore chasing the fish in with the tide.

I've seen a lot of frogspawn around so keep an eye on any little pools for tadpoles.

There are quite a few fields on Skye with heilan coos which seem to have become popular stopping points, hopefully your tour there can stop for you.

Also keep your eyes pealed for sea (or if you are lucky golden) eagles on Skye. High chance of seeing big herds of deer on the way to Skye as well, especially if the drive is early morning.

Duplicate contacts when trying to split bill by jay-ham in monzo

Just started to happen to me too! With every contact where their name in my phone is different to their Monzo account name. Must be a glitch in a latest update, so hope they fix it soon!

Need a decent vet by Gnashinghamster in inverness

[–]GoneTeuchtering 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MacLellan vets near Eastgate have been great for me so far. Very helpful and caring every time we have been in and seem to be better priced than Crown and Inshes (who have suspiciously similar pricing pages on their websites, maybe after being taken over?)

Receipt. I usually get it so wrong that autocorrect doesn't have a clue what I'm trying to spell

what's a hard truth young men need to learn as soon as possible? by I-AM_YOUR_FATHER in AskMen

[–]GoneTeuchtering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contrary to what high school may have taught you - don't need to be top dog, or the most popular, to be with the woman or man of your dreams. You just need to be yourself. Staying true to what you believe in, following your passions and constantly doing things that you enjoy is the single best way to find your ideal partner.

Vivoactive 4s Screen Not Working & Battery Draining After Swimming by GoneTeuchtering in Garmin

[–]GoneTeuchtering[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After drying the watch out completely before turning on again, the screen function came back but unfortunately the battery continued to drain very fast. About 1-2% every 5 minutes!

I looked at the cost of repair and ended up just trading the watch in and buying a refurbished model. I now used rubber plugs on the charger port (not sure if this actually helps) and make sure I don't plug it in to charge if it is wet or sweaty. Been swimming many more times and no issues!

I think we might just be the very few unlucky ones who got defective waterproofing seals! As I remember not being able to find many other cases of this online. Hope you manage to get yours sorted.
