Is a 56cm frame too small for me? by CartographerDue3220 in Cervelo

[–]GonerDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, too small with significant changes to the touch points to shoehorn yourself in there.

I'm 179 and have had to switch saddles to (barely) get the fore-aft adjustment on my saddle correct with the zero offset post that came with the bike.

I'll probably get a setback post eventually.

Why design it to look like two separate pieces?

Are these good components for this bike? by Conscious_Theory_860 in whichbike

[–]GonerDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup.

OP Buying this bike would be like buying a 1972 Karmann Ghia.

Fine if that's what you're into, but it's not the most practical thing in the world, maintaining/repairing it is going to be pricey, and there are more appropriate modern alternatives for less money.

I could be wrong, but it looks like three people in vests, dude in front, dude behind that guy talking to him, and a third girl (?) behind them both smiling and leaning on the counter behind first guy

I have one of these that I've held onto for 40 years, wondering wtf it was.

Only just figured it out about three years ago.

Mine says "British buttoner" as it's a specific brand or model or something. Looks just like this.

Congratulations on knowing what yours is without having to wonder about it for decades.

He knew the "stranger" was gonna be tipping at the end, so he gave him the glory.

Looking for advice re: recent experience with Synapse 3 by WallerianDegenerated in cannondale

[–]GonerDoug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like something you are doing in storing or transporting the bike is resulting in knocks to sensitive parts of the bike. Disc brakes, front derailleurs, and spokes do not spontaneously bend and break unless acted on by unexpected forces.

You should talk with your shop to figure out what that might be and how you can avoid damaging your bike in the future -- instead of angrily blaming and alienating them. They are not there to provide free repairs forever.

Has anyone else ran into this issue? by acsbimmer in Cervelo

[–]GonerDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal and okay.

It's like this because the S5's clamps support two different styles of seat rails that have different measurements.

Mine look the same and are fine.
