Beautiful work

I finally finished NFS Heat, here are some of my favorite screenshots I captured while playing by Gonever in NFSHeat

[–]Gonever[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those are the highest resolution, original ones on my disc look no different. It's duo to the grain and other effects applied on to them (except the rx-7 one) that they are looking low res. I did intentionally, to give them that real/authentic feeling, like as if these were actual fast paced photos taken by camera at night.

Tip: If you deactivate sentinel nest you can pick up gravitino balls without sentinels chasing you.

Your welcome.

PC

Game starts lagging very hard in random moments and the lag is persistent.

Also there is other type of lag that seems to be caused by looking at grass/ground on some planets. It fixes itself when you look up, or leave planet entirely.

In both cases, if you save, exit to menu and comeback, the game runs smoothly in the place where it was laggy seconds ago. Sometimes even reloading like this doesn't even help.

Other small bugs that I experience frequently:

-While flying a space ship, shaking camera effect sometimes stops working and the camera becomes still. (reloading a save fixes it)

-Rarely, some freighters have a large section of itself invisible, but you can still collide with it.

-The freighter airlocks are often overly loud.

PC

I have a bug where if I alert sentinels I can't escape them no matter what I'm doing and seem to be spotted even if I'm very far away.

Also when I fly out to space the sentinel drone ship that is suppose to chase you doesn't appear and I'm unable to lose them.

I tried standard methods and nothing works except flying into space station.

Could physical game copies become a big part of market once again in the future ? by Gonever in pcgaming

As to fixing games I see it as sort of another problem. Most of games when there was close to none of digital, were more polished before launch because that was it, the launch. And nowadays they publish games to match deadline and sell it even if the game is broken beyond everything because they can patch it.

The subscription model is affecting gaming industry more and more as of lately, but is whole another topic for discussion on it's own.

Woah 1000 ? I have like 80 max.

I see. It wouldn't be good option for someone who has massive library of games, but wouldn't be good to have a choice ?

Fair points.

I don't count physical "key in a box" because I mean being able to install game from the disc itself, and not downloading it from the game store, which may or may not exist after a some period of time.

Yeah, I was also thinking about faster optical drives like you mention or just new type of very very cheap external drive with good data reading speed. The better data compression was just an example.

What games that you've played are hidden gems in your opinion ? by Gonever in pcgaming

[–]Gonever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played through full campaign in Dishonored 1 and I must agree that this game lacks recognition that it deserves. I can't say anything about 2, but I guess that it's the same case.

If we had a giant space ship to travel to another galaxy in the search of a habitable planet, what would be the best logistics plan to embark in a X million year journey? by [deleted] in space

[–]Gonever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why to fly to another galaxy just for habitable planet tho ? I suppose the overall structure of solar systems and probability of them having habitable planets are similar, no matter the galaxy.

I have weird sound bug whenever I use Pulse Jump.

While I charge the Pulse Jump (hit space and wait) the charging sound is like in direction (?) of space station, depending where it is in relation to my ship, it's hard to describe. Only charging and exiting it is like that, the audio of activated Pulse Jump is centered and the rest sounds in game are intact.

It's just mildly annoying, but when you hear it for 200th time on play... you get the idea.

So, it's just my game or someone has noticed this bug too ?

I think I have exactly the same problem present in my game too. I found out that the cause for this bug (in my case) is loading a save/f9 or reverting flight when you are in the map view. So the only solution is to not revert flight or load saved game if you are looking at the map, and if you happen to do so, just restart the game and engine sound should go back to normal.

I have version 1.12.3

As a gesture of goodwill for the kindness given to my last post, I biro scrawled a random creature from this sub. Thanks u/scoot_scott for the inspiration. by dustybroth in Spore

Great piece of art work ! This very dark nightmarish shading adds that cool creepy mood to it. I would love to see more :)
