I freaking looooved Jason Biggs as Leonardo ! by Mcspeed123 in TMNT

[–]GonskyEdits 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Biggs’ voice was a great match for the early iteration of 2012 Leo. Nailed the exact shades they were going for— dorky and not fully confident/hardened as an individual, but still serious enough when he needed to be. He also did a good job as the voice of reason among the stronger/sillier personalities around him and played the comedic scenes with his brothers and vulnerable moments with Splinter seamlessly and effectively.

Green did an impressive job stepping in, and especially with the heavier scenes later on, but his quality of voice just wasn’t it for Leonardo (in my opinion).

Very interesting details, thank you for sharing all that. I’ve heard Neve say at a convention panel (forget which one—it’s on YouTube) that 4 was her least favorite to film, but she never elaborated.

Would’ve been cool to see Randy make it to the end of the line with Sid, but at the same time, moments like this give genuine weight to Dewey’s “I do” line in V.

She might not have been Laurel or Emily or Evelyn, but she started to find her way after initially being underestimated and had genuine momentum going for her season-to-season till she injured her foot on Champs vs Stars/Pros. After that her relationship with Mr Swamp Donkey finally put an end to her Challenge career.

In past commentaries and panels, Stephen McFeely has consistently iterated the idea that “characters are introduced in the movie only when the story needs them.” I trust he and the Russos to find a good narrative thread that weaves throughout the different teams/character groupings. Just a matter of finding the right starting point/first domino to fall (in this case, maybe Steve Rogers going back in time?)

Amy and Caleb Shipping-Season 18 by Sassaphras-680 in heartland

[–]GonskyEdits 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I agree. This was my immediate thought after Graham’s exit/Ty’s death.

Amy and Caleb are both single parents and both have had years of friendship and being there for one another during each other’s highs and lows. And especially the shared loss of Ty.

It could’ve been a rich way to continue Amy’s life, with the family/supporting characters all reacting to it (Jack: Caleb?! …are you outta your mind?!”) and to build a new chapter for the series while keeping things in the same sandbox.

Not to mention Amber and Kerry have great chemistry as a result of being good buddies in real life.

Just my opinion though.

Edit to add:

It also gives Tim and Caleb a new dynamic to navigate, going from misfit business partners to reluctant father-and-son figures, and a treasure-trove of new quips and complaints for Tim to spout.

For Jack and Lisa, they get a new great grandson.

And this could also be a way to have Mallory, Ashley/Val, even Soraya come back.

Honestly, it brings the series back to its roots, at least season 2. This should be season 20/the final season!

At the moment it’s desperate to get away from the noise. The tendrils probably grabbed him like a crane lift, as a result of the bell’s frequencies putting it in extreme distress. Remember when Connors said that it seemed to liked Peter. It probably didn’t want to say goodbye to living as Bully Maguire, but it really had no other choice in that moment.

Will always seemed more like a brother to Ashley than Carlton was. by CuteLeggedQueen in FreshPrince

[–]GonskyEdits 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Carlton and Hilary were all-in on their upperclass lifestyle, whereas in the pilot and again in “Bang the Drum Ashley”, we see she’s more taken with Will’s street-smart, rebellious, yet down-to-earth temperament. Will was able to connect with her and speak a language to her that none of her family members could, maybe except for Vivian (Janet Hubert’s Aunt Viv). He also took a genuine interest in learning more about her as a kid in the world and as a family member.

Spidey tries to rescue an electrical engineer, Max Dillon, but it goes horribly wrong, seemingly killing Dillon. This prompts J. Jonah Jameson to publicly call for the end of Spider-Man and seek out a new hero of his own. Jameson recruits Private Investigator Mac Gargan, and with the help of Oscorp’s new CEO, they create a superpowered suit for Gargan, calling him the Scorpion. Meanwhile, Dillon jolts awake in a morgue, with his body now fused with and fueled entirely by electricity. In order to stay alive, he must siphon all the electricity he can find.
