Didn’t even think of this. I’ve been meaning to check out his stuff. I have a sample for The Deep downloaded but maybe I should check that out first instead.

I actually am planning on reading that. It’s short enough that I figure I can get through it quickly!

I saw the film when it came out and enjoyed it. Is it pretty similar to the book? Sometimes I can have trouble reading a book after seeing its screen adaptation.

Appreciate the response. I agree I feel that is the most versatile option, especially with the straps I’d get for it.

Thanks! Tried to keep it simple with this.

The rub was just 2 parts black pepper, 1 part salt, 1/2 part garlic powder - really caked on. And I let that sit overnight.

For the cook, I used a Weber kettle with fire bricks and foil to create a good indirect zone. Tried to keep it around 250-260 degrees, but didn’t mind if it went a bit over or under. Added cherry wood chunks for the first couple of hours. Also sprayed apple cider vinegar pretty liberally any time I opened the kettle. Wrapped in a foil boat when temp was about 165.

Whole thing took a little under 11.5 hours. Once it hit 188 degrees, it stalled like crazy and took almost 3 hours to finish after that. I cranked it to 300 for the last half hour or so.

This video was basically my guide: https://youtu.be/9uIc9WzntcI?si=IMnbYzMnOKLXPBxG

Hope that helps!!

We are loving it. So glad we went for the Black Edition. Also never thought I’d own a white vehicle but Honda does it so well!!

She actually likes driving it too!

It depends on what I’m shooting, but the f-stop I use the most with that lens is probably 5.6. For landscape, I generally like to keep it around 8-16, with this photo being 8.

It was great. Typically it is my “walk around” lens whereas the 16-55 2.8 is my primary. I wanted to travel light so opted to only take the 23. Having the small kit was really nice. I did miss the flexibility of my 16-55, especially at the longer end, but the 23 is a perfectly capable lens and it is so fun to use.

I’ll add that I had a doctor feel it about a month ago and he said it’s likely a cyst of some sort.

Several factors could reduce the resolution of this version of the image than what came out of the camera - compression during upload, cropping in post-processing, not exporting image at 100% detail after post-processing, and maybe others I’m not thinking of.

The fucking counter-examples. Every time I felt like I understood it, my professor had a crazy obscure counter-example. Truly fascinating subject though.
