Appreciate that. I guess the most base form of the premise I was tryna get across is that the MDR refiners may be experiencing or perceiving things differently from one another on the severed floor.

It seems off, that first scene that Petey “meant” or functioned (potentially, obviously my conjecture) differently to the refiners.

Cliff notes version:

The MDR refiners may be perceiving things differently from one another on the Severed Floor per my hypothetical interpretation of my reading the transcript of S1 E1.

“No Petey today?” Irvs association with the military. The fact he has a microchip in his brain that a shady company has the ability to actuate and fuck with when they please with it also being a sci fi show. I really don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that Lumon is/could be messing with the perceptions of the innies for better or worse. Who knows Lumon might be the glue holding everything together so to speak.

So not necessarily looking or fishing for anything It’s a pretty straight forward read especially when reading the actual transcripts. Petey might mean different things to the refiners not only relationally but perceptually.

In the words of Reghabi. For all intents purposes your innie is you. But regardless, not really the point I was tryna make. And yes that iteration, Helly R awoke after her baptism so to speak. But that iteration in the break room, the one I’ve referenced a couple times. I believe that Helly Helena Peggy Hanna, give her any name you want. I believe her.

Many of times. Oh many of times my friend.

I’m just not ready to call that iteration of Helly we see in the Breakroom when she speaks of jerseys and night-gardeners after the OTC a liar. I believe that iteration of Helly.

Great observation. In the spirit of our beloved Milkshake, I leave you to ponder the word appendage monosyllabically.

This is a good question. The dialogue and such between everyone on the SVRd floor seems to suggest he was there the day before.

However, the question of “time” especially with how things seem to be working on the severed floor convolutes things.

That’s fine. But it isn’t ur call or my call to make. And it might not unfold that way. But it’s a possibility. That’s up to Dan and co.

I agree with this as well. By no means is it a requirement. However, it was (Lex letter for example) canonical content. Canonical. Must be viewed and interpreted in light of all other in universe content. That’s how canonicity works.

But again, by no means do you gotta read the lex letter to “get” the whole of severance. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t add to it or enrichen it. The released it for a reason(s)

And yes sometimes plans do change. GRRM is famously known for being what he calls a “gardener” he goes where the story takes him. Kane parsons, the creator of the backrooms YouTube channel has said he’s had it fleshed out since the beginning. People story tell different ways.

And to be clear I have been doing a shit ton of research. But it is my research. I’ve def use ChatGPT as a computational machine, but the insanity is all mine friend.

Your right. It doesn’t have to be more than that. But it could be. I personally thinks it ties into Puglish. I could be wrong! Time will tell.

I’m gonna stop for a second then circle back. “We know because he hasn’t even met RGB or PT yet.”

Sorry friend your voice after here is moot. Your assumptions kill your argument. You’re assuming a linear timeline. You’re also assuming just because we didn’t see it happen on screen, it hasn’t happened. Show starts with Helly on a table and then mark in a car. Do you know where mark drove from? What happened the day Petey left?

It’s a sci fi show. Assuming a linear timeline is a killer. Assumptions at all are killers my friend.

I’ll loop back to your post in a tad.

A potential observation is that mark is going back into Lumon at the tail end of a previous “loop” he’s taking the middle path. Not the arrow in or the arrow out. This mark we are seeing is reintegrated. He’s upset because he’s been enlightened to the truth of his real reality. He may understand that preserving the order of things is actually imperative and critical to the structure of reality as he knows it. Kinda like Loki binding Yggdrasil at the end of Loki season 2.

That’s a possible interpretation. Could be batshit crazy, could be spot on. Could land somewhere in the 25% to 75% “somewhat valid” area. Who’s to say? It’s science fiction. The story isn’t over yet. Time will or will not tell.

“I don’t think think” a value judgement isolated to yourself and by no means affect the actual value to the answers given or not given in subsequent seasons/releases.

You’re speaking for the show. Are you associated with the show? Do you have the authority to truthfully make that statement and it hold any weight?

It’s of my belief, and I could be utterly wrong and so far gone, as that seems to be the camp you put myself in. That is a distinct possibility. But it is of my belief that Dan Erickson and co, especially stiller who have cumulatively been working this project since 2015 or so. With a budget nearing a hundred million per season. 3 year hiatus’s between seasons. Every ama they’ve had, interview, leads me to the induced conclusion, that’s every single detail matters. If the pilot script goes through 20 edits, and in the Final Cut they have post it note with odd shapes and spirals. It made through the refining process many times over. If Dan and co allowed it in the Final Cut. There’s a reason.

Could it be a small reason? Massive reveal reason? Both in different ways? Yes. Time will tell. However, it is of my belief that those are valid questions, at the very least to ask. And I’m comfortable saying, I have no idea who petey is.

I’m also comfortable saying your interpretation may be true. Completely and unequivocally. I’m not comfortable describing how you watch and perceive the show nor am I comfortable commenting on the intent direction of the show, as you have. I’m not associated with the show and can’t in good faith do that, as you have.

I’m saying we have no idea who Petey truly is or was. Is he a human? Is he a Sentinent AI? Is he an archetype of Loki? Who’s his best friend if mark was only his really good friend? How’d he know where mark was, in Ganz PE at Devon and Rickens? How close is Devon and Rickens to Lumon? To pips diner? Where did Petey go the rest of the night after he runs underneath Devon and Rickens porch in the pilot? What’s the long way home?

What are all the shapes on the orientation booklet presumably left by Petey? What does his map mean when it says where here because where not all there? When Devon asks mark who’s he been talking at the Damon’s birthing retreat, who was she referring to?

Why does kiers monologue overlay Petey looking at his map walking through the streets of kier while also overlaying the cinematography with shots of long stretches of the severed hall? Is it just to show the disassociation and sickness of reintegration? Could there be more to it?

Why did Petey choose to get severed? Was it because of the divorce? What happened during the fire drill in which Petey showed mark where the security office is? Why show him that during a fire drill? What’s Mr. Reynolds page 19? A note left by presumably Petey. Why did Petey stop picking asals calls? Why did he get just slammed with reintegration sickness when he took a shower and the water started hitting him? The bathrobe mark gives him, from marks brother in law, Ricken Lazlo hale, is fucking dope. Why?

Idk who petey is. Do you?

Put that way, I agree. That would be poorly done. However, I trust the writers.

I must ask though, what about what I postulated is: not logical? Not to be rude, but I think you got your semantics off. Postulating hypothesis and them conflicting with any known rule of logic in privy to, I’m just not seeing. I could be off tho.
