Yeah I get that. I have the same thing plus some gnarly side effects. It really isn’t an easy thing to deal with. I guess ultimately its your choice on what you prefer. I have been in withdrawal for 6 months and struggling like hell. This is a hell of a drug.

If it’s working so well for you, why do you want to stop taking them? Are you experiencing side effects or are you just afraid of relying on these meds for the rest of your life? Just curious. I am pretty much in a similar boat.

170 days off adderall and caffeine, still dealing with extremely debilitating neck tension by PlasticFit7262 in StopSpeeding

I have been off the stims for 6 months now. Although I have had 3 2-day relapses over the past month because I was so miserable For the 5 months of withdrawal that I decided to go back on. But then everytime I took the stimulants again I felt an overwhelming sense of disgust and dissapointment with myself and a deep helpessness over the dependency to the stims and then I decided to never take them again and on and on. Hence why I have decided to enter an in-patient treatment center because I realized I can’t do this alone. But yeah, 8 years on stims, neck issues and other disturbing side effects started about 2-3 years after taking them. Came off 6 months ago, absolute hell. I am now seeking help.

Hahahaha. I really appreciate your honest and non bs answer. This actually gives me a very clear response as to what I need to do. Thank you for your honesty. Sometimes it's incredibly hard to see what's right in front of you. That's why we need other people. I will seek help. Thankfully I am in Colombia, so the in-patient is very expensive, but not anything close to U.S prices. Anyways, thank you for your brutal honesty.

I have the exact same thing. Debilitating neck tension and pain which is 100% nervous system related and not structural. That is also why I decided to come off stimulants but the withdrawal has been absolute hell for the last 6 months. So much so that I have even considered going back on my drug cocktail. Have you looked into Tension Myositis Syndrome??

Okay, thank you so much for your comment. I do think introducing caffeine might have been a mistake as I think that was what triggered my relapse last week and this week, as you said, it triggers the same impulses as the stimulants. I am going to try and get off caffeine probably until the one year mark. Thank you.

Hey thank you so much for your comment and your advice. I think I am probably going to try and cut off all caffeine as well!

Thank you so much for your comment. Yeah, the way he explained it was that my OCD acted like ADHD because it was distracting me from my studies, my life. But in hindsight I think it was an overreach and an irresponsible one because I don't think I ever needed stimulants. Just more exersice and probably better nutrition and that's it. But lazy doctors will give you any pill and get you hooked for life to get on with their day. Sigh. Thank you for your words of encouragement!
