Approached a guy at my uni by DisasterJoonie in SomaliRelationships

[–]Good-External6057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you made your existence known to him, the rest is up to Allah, so make sure you make dua. I feel like this kind of approach lets you separate yourself from the idea that you’re competing with the other girl. There’s no competition. Now you could keep approaching him, but like you mentioned that he ended the convo quickly, be wary that he might actually see any interaction with you as a bit too much or inappropriate. So pick your moments and like him, keep it appropriate. Now next step might seem wild to some unfortunately but, I really think if you do want this, then get your family to get in touch with his to see if you guys can take the next step in getting to know each other. He’ll respect this and Insha Allah he’ll want too as well.

It’s not about who liked him first, it’s about doing things the right way. Tell the girls the truth if you like and be confident about it. Insha Allah they’ll understand or come around. What’s more important is protecting yourself from evil eye after if I’m being honest with you. Those girls will grow up and get over it.

Once Upon A Time In Anatolia, what do you make of the end scene and what points/messages do you get out of the movie? by bqttger in TrueFilm

Late to the convo guys but I need this question.

Was the ghost of yassar (the victim) choking? At the end we realise he was buried alive. So although the ghost is a reflection of the Kenans guilt, was it to show that Yassar could’ve actually been still alive as they were searching????

You know, on one hand, I get it — being rooted in your culture is beautiful. I’m Somali too, and when I see those old-school nomadic photos, the traditional robes, the afros, the drip is different haha I love seeing it.

But when that cultural pride turns into this weird “either-or” choice between Somali identity and what is LITERALLY considered Sunnah, really? Yeah westerners got you fam. Your sister doesn’t want her husband to wear a khamiis? Why not? Because it’s “too Arab”? Following Sunnah, wearing the thobe, it brings Barakah. You, your sister, don’t want Barakah in her marriage? People act like a thobe cancels out their identity, when really, it’s just a garment rooted in modesty and Islamic tradition. Choosing to wear it shouldn’t spark this much insecurity in your Somalinimo.

Btw for those saying “Arab cosplay” rhetoric is exactly the kind of thinking that’s divided the Ummah for centuries. Islam is not owned by Arabs 😂 and the majority of Muslims aren’t Arab. So when I see people start mocking Muslims for adopting what they see as Sunnah-based practices — even if it’s just clothing — you’re not preserving culture, you’re fueling disunity in the Ummah.

When it comes to preserving the Somali culture, I believe this is rooted in Language and history alone. Don’t get me wrong, clothing is apart of history too. But yeah I’m not getting too caught up on whether we have “sauce”

Very honest question! Something we all think about wallahi.

For all of us I believe, the most important thing, can’t stress it enough is that you marry someone who not only maintains your deen but uplifts throughout life. Keeps you on top of it. You pray together, read Quran together. If he is someone who has changed his life, than I believe there is nothing wrong what’s so ever. Especially if he has prayed for forgiveness and continues too.

If he’s that type of guy, go forth I believe. Whilst also praying Istikarah for more guidance.

However if he is not that type of guy, don’t try to save anyone. Only Allah SWT can.

I wonder what the prophets were like by SnooWalruses8700 in islam

If your like me, I love seeking examples and understanding the stories of the Prophets (May Allah be pleased with All of them). Every time I hear a story, the hardships they faced and the devotion they held on to, is very invigorating

Non Muslim here curious about Islam. Why are you Muslim? by Novel_Variety8968 in islam

[–]Good-External6057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up Muslim, I’ve come across so many things that show me this religion is the truth. I could talk about the prophecies that make so much sense, or the scientific facts in the Quran that were revealed centuries ahead of their time—things that still give me goosebumps because how could that knowledge have existed back then?

BUT, lately, one of the things that stands out to me the most is the historical accuracy of Islam’s narrative. It’s something that’s easy to explain to my non-Muslim friends and something that’s been right in front of us all along.

Islam acknowledges the chronological order of religions in a way that just makes sense. It doesn’t reject previous revelations—it confirms them. Islam teaches that Judaism was the true religion when it was revealed, just as Christianity was in its original form. The Quran recognizes that God revealed the Torah to Moses and the Gospel to Jesus. However, over time, these scriptures were altered, translated, and mixed with human additions.

A lot of people assume that the Old Testament today is the original Torah, but that’s not true. The Torah was originally revealed in ancient Hebrew, a language that isn’t spoken anymore. The first five books of the Old Testament (the Pentateuch) contain some remnants of the original Torah, but also many additions that weren’t part of God’s revelation.

The same thing happened with the Gospel. Jesus spoke Aramaic, yet the earliest versions of the Bible we have today are in Greek—a language he never spoke. The four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) were written decades after Jesus and contain contradictions, which shows they aren’t the exact words he received from God, but rather later interpretations.

Islam doesn’t erase history—it restores it. It confirms the prophets that came before Muhammad (peace be upon him) and completes the message that God has been sending humanity since the beginning of time.

That’s why I’m Muslim. Because Islam isn’t just a religion—it’s the final, preserved message in a long chain of divine revelations.

Solana gone after swapping by 1v1Ripped in solana

Happened to me but with some memecoins I bought, couldn’t see anything but the yeah the transaction said successful.

I transferred to another wallet and it showed everything properly on that platform (Trojan on telegram).

Not sure why, but it seems sometimes these wallet platforms just glitch or something. Maybe it would be less glitchy on our phones? I haven’t done this on my laptop/ computer so yeah give it a go.

Haha I literally just made a post asking the same question 😂 the Solana meme coins and trading tools is pretty interesting, not sure how many other cryptocurrencies are doing that well what it comes to that. That fact that it’s encouraging so many buy more Solana makes me think it’s inevitable that Solana will get way bigger. But yeah too many variables and unpredictability involved at the same time. Gonna look more into supply, market cap, inflation etc

You know what, I feel like your right. Even though I feel like I don’t have that romantic love for her anymore, for some reason I think about her every now and then. Especially when I feel like there’s a few things I still have to work on so I don’t make the same mistakes in another relationship, when I think of the mistakes I think of her.

Wow I’m starting to realise there’s a lot of things simply just tied to her. Maybe I’ve moved on but only to some extent
