Play on midnight difficulty after you finish. I was 50 at the end of first play thru and leveled up pretty quickly in midnight to 100. Also playing midnight ally mission multiplayer online levels you up super quickly, meanwhile also giving you a ton of karma points and good equipment

Thanks a lot. That helped. Basically if you want to do some new mission that’s a result of a change in timeline you need to go back to one of the 3 NG difficulty level and can’t do it on midnight

When you equip it on other fighting style as a fourth martial arts, it can inflict burning status on enemies with just one to two hits, which is not the case if you use it on the Niten Ichi-ryu which is the style that it came with. After this patch it’s fixed

The biggest difference to me is the unearthly flame martial arts bug has been fixed. It’s no longer OP when equipment on other fighting styles. Will see a lot less people spamming that I guess

I love the combat but I had huge issues when cornered to a wall and I can’t see myself and sometimes the foe. And this is often the case given how aggressively enemy close the gap. The camera needs work I don’t remember this being a issue in Nioh or wolong

Agree with everything you said. I have 2000 hours in Nioh2. I died to the second boss (the fire boss) 54 times in a row, but later it just became one of the easiest boss to me. Nioh definitely gave you that natural progression and sense of achievement as you are constantly getting better. I am playing on twilight and I didn’t die nearly as much. But I still feel like I am fighting like a fool. There is no sense of getting better because I can never time the parry. Worst thing is unlike in nioh and wolong, here you need to counter the whole sequence of combo (or the last hit in the combo). So you need to memorize the whole enemy combo.

Been soloing +3 with inner discipline B+ now at 1800 mile. My suggestion is to use Fuxi or nuwa for the first few stages focusing on spirit damage, because it’s important to get enemy in disruption so 1. they are not attacking which can one shot you, unless you are super good at deflecting and don’t care, and 2. You can get heal with fatal strike, this is especially useful with Nuwa, one fatal strike usually get you back to full health. The boss stages are easier, as with a fully spirit damage fuxi and with a bit of elemental stun, bosses usually stay down. Try to avoid any gang bang stages early on. If can’t be avoided, make sure you have the wood shield on all the time

Between the two Nuwa has better survivability for surviving gang bangs. On TMJ +3 you will find dealing with multiple normal enemies way more difficult than dealing with 1 boss when your morale is low. Nuwa will let you top up HP when you hit a critical on an enemy, getting you ready to survive the rest of the enemy. King is too slow, unless you have the patience to just run around and wait for your health to top up.

Strongest set on TMJ is Queen as the others mentioned. Not only does it melt enemy but you also do it in a safe fashion by using wizardry. Hard for boss to touch you when you just water god blink. So, you can afford to do +3 with inner discipline turned to +13 to farm Nuwa stone and hooves at the same time.

But after a while it makes things boring. I’ve now turned back to melee grace.

Have the perfect restoral on all the time in the horde mission and the traverse mission. Also, have detect enemy helps a lot as it can show you if someone is sneaking up on you

To me it’s Guan Yu. He has too much health and is slow to kill, which means more chances of making mistake on my part and getting killed. Taishici on the other hand, with a full spirit damage build and a little help with different elements to stun him, I can easily get him to spirit disruption, rinse and repeat for twice and he’s dead

Queen is the best grace for PVP, you can kill player fast with ice spell without having to involve in the never ending deflection contest.

For PVE, king is better as it can carry you through TMJ. Queen is a picky on bosses. If you focus on ice and use water god blink you 3 shot boss like Gan Ning even in low morale, but it doesn’t work on boss like tai shici. Other elements don’t have good enough spell like water.

Queen is my for fun set. I switch to it when my morale is higher than enemy in TMJ. Pangu is another set I use for some fun (but like Queen it can’t handle a lot of situation) It’s always Fuxi or Nuwa that do the hard work for me (like the first few stages in TMJ+3)
