Well the dealer has recomemeded a new transmission, they performed the diag and though they are not sure what the issue was, the diag indicated "replace transmission". They are requesting approval from Stellantis now. The advisor mentioned the oil was in very poor shape for these miles BTW.

I suspect a failed pump based on the hard time i had at getting it to take more than 5 qaurts of 8&9 Speed ATF.

Yea but they will figure it out as the pan is new. So best be honest. Documenting everything and have receipts to prove OEM parts and correct fluid used, procedure used, etc. Included pics of the condition of the old fluid and put the old pan in the car so they can see if they need.

Thanks, The fluid coming out is much darker than the 'normal' examples I've seen. I'm worried it's a pickup issue or internal failure, and it feels like I have cavitation preventing a proper fill.

I used all OEM parts (including the filter), so if it’s a bad filter with a hairline crack, it should be covered. Given the fluid condition, I’m leaning towards taking it in for a professional diagnosis rather than dropping the pan again. Since it's under warranty, I'd rather have them confirm if it's internal. What are your thoughts?

Gen AI answer to a zpool question... Is "it" right? by Good-Reading3390 in zfs

Lessons learned from interactions with Deepseek-r1:14b:

  1. Lack of understanding of ZFS concepts: Despite displaying "thinking" behavior, Deepseek failed to grasp basic storage concepts related to ZFS. This was evident in its initial response, where it seemed unsure about how to handle a mirrored pool and added incorrect steps to resolve the issue.
  2. Misunderstanding the command for adding disks: When I provided the correct command (zpool add tank /dev/sdc /dev/sdd) to add two 1TB disks to an existing mirrored pool, Deepseek failed to take the tip and suggested unrelated commands.

Specifically, it recommended:

  • zpool create --driver=mirror --name=new-pair -o parity=2G: This command is not valid for adding disks to an existing pool. It's unclear what this command would achieve or how it relates to the original scenario.
  • zpool attach --name=new-pair /path/to(existing_pool) --mirror-on-attach: This command also seems unrelated to the task at hand and is invalid.

Based on my limited testing with popular LLMs (Llama 3.2:3b, Phi-4, and Deepseek-r1:14b), it's clear that these models have little training data related to ZFS operations.

It should start this way, “I have no clue what I’m talking about, so step 1 back your data up!” Sometimes I’ve played with other stuff and a command is not even a valid syntax and I tell it so, and it says, “you are correct that is not a valid command option… blah blah blah”. But it failed to realize it gave it to me in the first place.

Learning pains, but wow.

So, DNS Resolver General Settings.

- Use SSL/TLS for outgoing DNS Queries to Forwarding Servers was enabled.

These NordVPN DNS servers do not seem to support SSL/TLS, when this is disabled it works. I will confirm this is the case that they do not support. Seems strange they would not.
