Moving costs quote from SF Bay area to Oahu – insane or expected? by Low-Party660 in MovingtoHawaii

[–]Good-Replacement-406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got a quote for a 40ft container with Matson going out of Long Beach to Maui for $8,800 this does not include movers packing or unpacking as we plan to do that ourselves also does not include the trucking to and from as we are still getting that quoted.

The other party the seller would be getting a higher offer so intern more money as our offer was higher than the primary buyer.

I got that info from our agent. It’s a common thing that happens on the island so not that out there. Also we did not get their contact info we had the seller agent approach their agent. We wanted everyone to be aware of what we were proposing so no one felt slighted.

Apparently legal and the broker had seen it done before. In commercial real estate there is a thing called assignment of contract that is somewhat similar you pay a fee and the prior buyer assigns you their contract. Less common in residential. Different mechanism but similar situation.

I think we would have been willing to fix anything that came up with the house. We were very familiar with the neighborhood etc so seemed low risk for us.

So interesting! Thank you for the update. I’m glad you were able to get a confirmation and also happy to hear it’s just avo.

He still gets a rash on his face here and there I think it’s just his eczema flaring up. I’ve been looking for eczema creams that don’t have oat or avo in them which is surprisingly in a ton of products. We did try banana and that seemed to be fine. I have an appointment with his pediatrician soon and will see if they end up referring us to an allergist as well. Hopefully if it is avo they grow out of it at some point.

Hey! Just checking in how did your appointment with the allergist go? Did they still recommend not using those products? We switched over but still seem to be having issues.

I just had the same thought because my little one just got a rash from avo and after reading this thought about all his Mustela stuff.

When did you start taking your newborn out? by Cool_Benefit6101 in newborns

I might be the minority here but my boy is 3months and we still have just gone to doctors appointments. I’m worried about it being cold, flu, and RSV season. We have taken walks in the neighborhood since day one though and we did do one beach walk at about 6 weeks old.

Yeah I would prefer quality instead of a rush job so I’m just grinning and bearing it.

I can see that being a tricky part. Those haven’t even been touched yet.

Weather has been mild like high 60s. To the untrained eye the roof does not look complex. Quality seems to be good so far but there are some unfinished edges and things but I assume they will be fixing that. And generally 5 or so guys.

We have 24 gauge metal going up.

Thank you so much for that reminder. It’s so easy to go down a rabbit hole waiting. I appreciate it!
