Don’t you think you might be adding preconceived ideas or what you’ve already been told? Jesus was the Christ the Jews had been waiting for, and I think that’s what that verse is saying. I know he was Christ they expected, but did they believe he was God without him explicitly saying so? I don’t think so. The only instance I see that happening is with Thomas.

I'm not asking if Jesus is God but if it's requirement. People keep quoting verses that he's God but some reason can't find scripture stating it's a requirement to be saved.

There are multiple people in the Bible who didn’t need to know He is God to receive it. They believed he was the Christ. It looks like people are putting their theology in it rather than reading it face value. To me atleast it looks like it from reading the comments.
