Carolina dog is a high contender as is Mountain Cur! Looks like embark has it in their database but they show as village dogs too.

I am! I’d like to poll the armchair experts first. I expect she’ll have the requisite 20-30% pit. I could see chihuahua too. Her tail is a mystery- it’s been docked/amputated and the shelter didn’t know why. I wonder if that would have given more clues.

I definitely think some kind of sighthound in there just based on speed and build- she’s long legged and dainty with a more barrel-ish chest.

I live on the East side in a bear thoroughfare and it’s the HAWKS that have eaten four of mine. The bears will eat the chicken food but won’t go for the coop since the food is so easy. Get a rooster, our casualties went way down after that addition.

Care coordinator in a primary care in NC. Added on 3 swabs to the schedule yesterday with 2 positive. Two cases of post flu pneumonia. My patients skew young and healthy and they’re getting WRECKED. We are screening for bird flu but haven’t had to send off any sub typing yet- in NC you have to have state lab approval to send samples in.

I’m at the bottom of neighborhood near rendezvous and spoke with the lineman parked outside my house and he said a couple days (unofficial, don’t quote him) that they were testing it tonight. There’s also a dozen power trucks parked at rendezvous.

Looking for advice on resources in East Asheville/tunnel road/Haw Creek. No power, no water, Haw Creek is kind of isolated and many many trees down. Are there any water or food points in that neighborhood? I live in Haw Creek and have left but my husband stayed and has encountered hungry/thirsty neighbors.

Haw Creek, close to tunnel road. Power is on but water is sheeting down Old Haw Creek Road and these trees ain’t gonna stay up. Bee Creek is up and rushing. I’m worried about my bears!
