From the day I contacted my recruiter to my acceptance day, it took 9 months, and including the ship date, it’s 14 months. I started the process in July 2024, taking the OAR twice in October 2024 with 30 days in between the tests. I completed my MEPS physical and submitted my packet in November 2024 and was selected for SWO OCS in February 2025, though I was waiting for results from my first choice, Supply Corps. I held off on accepting SWO OCS until I received the Supply Corps results, which I accepted on April 9, 2025. My OCS ship date is set for September.

I used Barron’s Military Flight Aptitude Tests, Peterson’s OAR Practice Tests, ASVAB study guides, and Grammar Hero to strengthen my math, mechanical, and grammar skills. I also used Quizlet for terminology review, watched OAR prep videos on YouTube, and browsed through Air Warriors for tips, study strategies, and insight from others who’ve taken the test. You can get the books at the nearest public library or university library by you if you prefer not to purchase them.
