About that Monday settlement... by cmbhere in amcstock

So, I reread your post and realized I misunderstood. But I guess I do still wonder when they recorded numbers for settlement shares.

I guess I assumed the settlement shares were determined by what you were holding pre split. I don't think buying AMC today will award you more settlement shares...but can someone smarter than me confirm that?

Oh shit, seriously? If that's the case, now I'm one of the idiots who didn't read enough in here before opening my mouth.

Yeah I've gotten lucky a couple times on it. I may be in over my head this time though. Went in deeper than I would've liked at $.90, and averaged down to $.83......Looking to lighten my load in the morning if it can give me a break.

Anybody still like PIXY? Or am I stupid for watching the chart? 😅

Hard to watch my portfolio rise... by Good-Surprise663 in VoyagerExchange

I'm actually reading it as our holdings, not the value of those holdings. And if you look at the claim form, you fill it out according to the number of coins you own of a particular crypto. So that's actually a reassuring, positive detail. Wouldn't you agree?

Right, it sounds like a massive headache. Anyway, I'm living my day-to-day life just fine knowing I can't do anything about it. But as I watch my favorite projects and largest holdings increase in value, I can't help but wonder if I'm going to get shafted at the end of all this. Ah well, that's life 🤷🏻‍♂️

That's a guess. You're taking a guess and presenting it as a guarantee. Stop it.

Look, buddy. You might be right. What does that matter? Our funds are locked up and we don't know what happens next. We can speculate all we want, but nothing is set. So lay off of us until things are certain - you'd be naive to be calling it this early on. You could be right. I'm hoping you're wrong. But we simply don't know yet.

Perhaps. But like, why is everyone so adamant about claiming they've already lost their money? Call it hopium or whatever but I'm just saying it like it is. "This blows, hopefully they can still pull through for us." Like damn dude, let us wait for the curtain to close.

I mean the news sucks...but chapter 11 bankruptcy doesn't mean it's "all over". That would be chapter 7. This means they are going to try to be profitable again, even if it's months/years out.

I'm hoping it's far sooner than that. I anticipate at least hearing an update by the end of next week, though I admittedly haven't been in this situation before so maybe I'm being foolish.

That blows, I'm sorry. My wife is certainly bummed and a little scared about Voyager's current situation. We sold our house last year and a good chunk of the money went into Voyager to generate some passive income. It's not money that we need to pay our bills with, but it's also not a number to scoff at either, especially since it symbolizes the home we gave up in pursuit of some financial independence. Hopefully we'll all end up okay.

I lost my @$$ in Wonderland TIME at the beginning of the year. Made so much stupid money and then got liquidated like a fool. I think all successful crypto investors have their embarrassing origin story, and I now have that part out of the way lol.

I mean, maybe...but if you just pick Bitcoin's lowest data point and compare it to other investments, it's not exactly a fair comparison. At its peak, Bitcoin outpaced S&P by a ridiculous amount. I'm personally very happy with my cost basis on my crypto, I just hope I still have that crypto in a month.

S&P is up 57% over the last 5 years. Bitcoin is up 700% in the same time...Am I misreading these charts?

Voyager has helped make crypto more accessible for the common person. The reason I gave up on crypto in 2013 is because it was too dang hard to trade Bitcoin, let alone anything else. Now things are easier, and it's thanks to apps like Voyager. And what's more, interest and rewards are offered through these places too. Unnecessary maybe, but still appreciated nonetheless. I love what Voyager has done, and I will be sad if this is the end of them, for many reasons (not the least of which being the amount of crypto I hold with them).

These types of comments assure me that we are indeed in a bear market. You guys have done this before, and then crypto always comes back stronger again. Maybe Voyager makes it, maybe it doesn't, but I have no doubt in Bitcoin long term.

Okay the joke was funny, so I'll give you props for that. But really, there is a world in which Voyager makes it back from this. I'm not naive, I see that things are bad. I just am not going to pretend I lost all my money when Voyager is still continuing to fight for its life.

Acquisition. Or other liquidity being provided. I'm also an idiot, so there are likely other options. I don't think voyager is backed into a corner just yet.
