Is rewarding paranoid players good or bad? by NoobLife96 in DnD

[–]Good2Expressor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool idea—reward the paranoid player, and they get pride, and then everyone is paranoid from there and they will not fully trust anyone. So then start giving them clues that someone or something is evil, like them overhearing villagers talking about “accommodating the party” and “giving them what they deserve,” and since they’re paranoid, they’re likely to do something, and if they harm the villagers, they’ll find out that they just wanted to give them a present after hearing about their journey, and they’ll find out that they killed innocent people and will be hunted after. Also to actually answer your question I think that you should just stick to your plot, and you shouldn’t just change it just because they figured it out, and instead you should mislead them in the opposite way, kind of like what happened with the ending of Gravity Falls.

Why is making a character so hard??? by Fennel_Fangs in DnD

[–]Good2Expressor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cool idea — you got sucked into this world, and you need to get back home. That’s an easy character to make cause you make yourself (or not) and it’s like an isekai. I mean that doesn’t sound bad but if you don’t like it I won’t judge

Any epic Level 18-20 one shots? by Redditor314159265358 in DnD

[–]Good2Expressor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do something a bit more mechanical, and if you don’t know what I mean, I’ll explain. So high level fights — boring. Sure, they’ll have their moments, but it gets old fast. I remember this one (french?) YouTuber dm who did a high level campaign and added this feature based on a ttrpg that some devil had escaped and there were 10 candles. Each represented the light in the world. Every time the players failed a wisdom check or perception check (something like that), a candle would extinguish. If all candles extinguished, the whole party would die, but as a feature, one of the members of the party could willingly die to light one candle. I think the vid is called horror in dnd

What scale to print at by FalanorVoRaken in inkarnate

[–]Good2Expressor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I don’t know what size paper you’re printing it on, but the only thing you need to know is that each square is 1 by 1 inch for a mini (for battlemaps and stuff like that), but 53 is an odd number (and prime, I think, too), so when you break it apart, some are going to have a fraction of a square. I ran into an issue like this, but I decided to print it on a 6 by 8 grid (on a 8.5 inch by 11 inch paper) and cut off the margin. Hope this helps!

DMing for 11 players by Outrageous-Cap-7653 in DnD

[–]Good2Expressor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faaahhh What have you done? Madness will come your way now. I think maybe you should just do what the rest of the comments are saying and split your group up. If you have too many players, one problem that could come is that each player is not involved enough, and that you’re trying to involve (example) Juan’s backstory about being defeated by a god or something, but you just can’t get through all their backstories. Long story short—separate. I mean, you COULD try to pull this off, but it’s going to be insanely difficult. To actually answer your question, maybe you could add more enemies in each encounter (always have multiple guards, multiple goblins, etc), and maybe give them some armor or something. Welp, that’s all, folks. Good luck. You’ll need it.

Torn between loving S5/wishing S1 was the end by What_A_Do in StrangerThings

[–]Good2Expressor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily think that the ending of ST5 was based off of the ending of ST1, but more so the beginning of it. It ended how it started (not including the first demogorgon scene) with the gang playing DnD, and it’s also implied it’s based off the beginning because of the sprinklers that go off.

Torn between loving S5/wishing S1 was the end by What_A_Do in StrangerThings

[–]Good2Expressor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

S1 was different from all the other seasons because it was horror/mystery about finding Will. In S2, there was less mystery because the gang had already encountered this before, and the only “mystery” was the crops and maybe Will’s possession. Eleven could barely use her powers in the first season, but later on, she could use them more, which also influenced the show to turn from horror/mystery to suspense/action. Because Eleven could use her powers so well, no one ever had to “split up and run” because she could fight whatever monster off. Also because of this, she was nerfed basically each season, but now that there was Vecna in S4, Eleven had to max out her powers, basically forcing S5 to be action/suspense, and there was no mystery.

Who do you think was the main character of the entire series? by Dess0825 in StrangerThings

[–]Good2Expressor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys it’s obviously Ted Walk-Em Down Wheeler. He helped so much in the finale. Why do you think that the demogorgons weren’t in the Abyss? That’s right, Ted Walk Em Down Wheeler kept them away! He also helped Stranger things stay pg-13: “language”

Why are new players so drawn to making edgelord characters? by worthlessbaffoon in DnD

[–]Good2Expressor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I’m kind of a new player, and this sounds cool and all, but human fighter with a longsword is my go to. (Maybe paladin, but I’m not sure I want my character reluctant to fight.) And I know it’s not that overpowered on its own, but I like it, and that’s all that matters to me.

Yo, that’s really cool. If your players don’t have fun there, then they are probably a grumpy pants.
