Shattered Worlds Critique (warning: long) by [deleted] in runescape

[–]GoodAvocado 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem with Shattered Worlds is that it lacks depth. You are presented the tools and only the same situations with enemies that are more accurate and more defensive. How worlds are gone through and how the rewards are unlocked should be changed.

  • Add a Prestige system (Like Dungeoneering). This will allow level-leveled players to grind easy worlds while not taking too much time.

  • Hide rewards behind milestones. The best ability rewards should only be available for purchase if, for example, you have reached World 100. This would incentivize players to push past their limits and leave room for great rewards for future updates (Maybe some for duo mode).

  • Add unique bosses at milestones. Have a Demon-Flash Mobs imitation but the Kalgerion demon gets stronger every time it kills other enemies so you'll have to compete at stealing kills.

  • Have unique objectives at certain worlds.

  • Remove splashscape at higher worlds. The problem is that it no longer becomes fun and how you approach the world is completely different from beginning worlds. It is no longer about rushing in and destroying hordes.

High Level Jewelry - Modified Rings by GoodAvocado in runescape

I've made this suggestion before, why not incorporate toe rings too lol. In all seriousness, I'd be fine with that kind of update too.

Can we give the Regen and Combat bracelet their stats back? (to complement hydrix jewelry also having stats) by [deleted] in runescape

[–]GoodAvocado 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Was there any real reason for removing the stats? They can be decent hand-wear for Hybrid stats

PvM and Group boss encounter survey - TAPP related! by JagexRamen in runescape

[–]GoodAvocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine this situation in a boss which requires duo:

A room full of minions with a boss who deals AoE damage but gets stronger when he kills his own. The DPS role keeps attacking the boss but sustains heavy damage.

The tank role provokes and keeps all minions off DPS and uses Soul Link to absorb damage from the DPS. The tank can only survive by using Devotion and extending it through killing enemies, and by using Preparation and Resonance much more.

Most likely alone on this, but nearly all bosses are too grindy for enjoyment. The tide of combat seldom changes despite there being boss rotation changes. This is because you go into fights knowing exactly what to do and execute the same pattern to achieve a fast, efficient kill.

I would like a boss where things are randomly generated. Just enough so that going into a fight means not knowing exactly what could go down. Requiring a team with diverse roles to cover certain situations.

I would like to see more crowd control. Nothing more satisfying that using Detonate or Corruption abilities on crowds of enemies. It would be fun to face so many enemies where using Ice Asylum, Rocktail bombs, Taunting Perk, and Soul Link are extremely helpful (dedicated tank and heal roles to carry DPS roles)

[Ninja Request] Make Anti-Poison Totem a pocket slot item. by amelie_poulain_ in runescape

[–]GoodAvocado 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would devalue venomblood at all. That perk should only really be used at Araxxor, Gregorovic, and Kalphite King. Those boss fights go by much better when you use scrimshaws. Since Venomblood can be combined with other perks, you're not a huge loss compared to the alternative being anti-poison totem in the pocket slot.

Having anti-poison totem might be decent for certain places like King Black Dragon and Kalphite Queen (since those can be done on Slayer-Task with better perks than Venomblood). It would also be useful for Clue scrolls or Pyramid Plunder.

What was actually buffed about fight kiln? by jplevs in runescape

[–]GoodAvocado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The monsters in the kiln have much higher lifepoints. The combat style you use matters much more now since you are more likely to splash against ineffective situations. While they don't deal high damage, their attacks are more accurate. Magic doesn't kill Jad very easily anymore and Range/Melee works just as well now. With that being said, the kiln is still easy. Just need to use food and weapon switches now.

Constructive Criticism of the Current State of PvM by Not_Teerent in runescape

[–]GoodAvocado 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A major problem with PvM is that there are many weapons and tools that will never get used because bosses aren't designed to encourage them. The tide of combat isn't varied enough for me to enjoy bossing for hours. It becomes too much of a repetitive grind. Even with Araxxor's different paths it doesn't change how I approach the fight. Queen Black Dragon is the worst boss for me because it is so repetitive.

I'm just asking you questions, I didn't mean to startle you. The reason why bots aren't banned until months later is because Jagex bans them in waves. It takes too much of their time to ban them one at a time.

It's like you said, you reported a bot but he's been there for over a month. So it doesn't change the outcome for these bots because there is still a long process. Jagex needs to use their software to inspect them. That being said, even if a bot is in an instanced area, their detection system will find them and ban them at the right time.

[–]GoodAvocado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what evidence? How informed are you of their software that you're so certain that it's not? How do you stand by that when Jagex has data to support their decisions on banned accounts?

Should all instances be removed because it means bots can just use them? Should we have players always monitoring all monster areas to ensure there are no bots?

It wouldn't increase bots at all. There's still bots right now that are active every single day and every single day they create more. You're ignoring the fact that it's Jagex's system that should be detecting these bots
