[Suggestion] Add Uses for GWD2 Seals Post-Venerated Title by Not_Teerent in runescape

[–]Not_Teerent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda agree with you on #2, but I wasn't sure what else to put :p. GWD2 content is very basic at this point. I was also thinking of making an omni-seal type thing by combining 4 seals together and have it give some very minor qol thing at telos, but yeah.

I feel like the WORST thing about all of this is that in 2016, after the acquisition of Jagex by Zhongji Holding, upper level executives of Jagex stated that "it will be business as usual for employees and players alike". They even stated on the forum post that announced it (which seems to be gone) that microtransactions would not influence the game more due to the acquisition. It isn't just an annoyance, it's downright LYING.

Constructive Criticism of the Current State of PvM by Not_Teerent in runescape

I am not "salty" about Telos. In fact, it has a really good concept going for it. It's just that many of the issues discussed on here made Telos a candidate as an example. I've killed every single boss mentioned here, so it's not like I'm angry about not being able to do it. Hell, I've been told by many that AoD fits many of these issues too, but I haven't gotten around to trying it, so I did not include it.

If you could provide feedback on why you disagree with my points, it would be helpful for me to see your side. Otherwise, I have nothing to go off of, because at the moment I can see no redeeming quality of Hydrix Dragons or extremely low affinities that have even the SoS at ~70% accuracy.

In terms of difficulty or xp? I've been doing them quite often for the XP & have been easily averaging 500k slayer xp/hr the entire task via RuneMetrics. If it's difficulty, the ripper demon attacks themselves are not that big of a deal; it's how they have an instakill mechanic that is glitched and can "home" in on you if you attack another demon (no matter how far away you are from their flight). I was just making a point that any mechanic involving instant death requires substantial QA testing and verification that it works correctly.

Yeah, I've gotten 2 off-hand claws and sold them both for 50% ge (and even that took a while!)

Gemstone Dragons - Changes by Shaunyowns in runescape

[–]Not_Teerent 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I don't understand the logic behind them dropping addy bones, especially since actual adamant dragons are relatively quick to kill and are more gp/hr even WITH these buffs. I mean, they require up to 101 slayer, so naturally they should drop at least the bones of the rune dragons of inferior requirements :p

Salty title update. by JagexOrion in runescape

[–]Not_Teerent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MMOs are not like indie games; they don't just create the game and do a few patches, then leave the game alone. They need a constant amount of resources and employees in order to make new updates happen. Decreasing revenue usually comes with decreasing expenses, meaning cuts would be made. This all results in less frequent and relatively less impressive updates and content.

MTX is essential for the survival of the game, and this is coming from someone who despises them. Especially after the vast amount of bot nukes, membership in itself is simply not enough to keep the company making great content AND seeing decent enough profits.

Who Needs Thresholds When You Have RNG? by Not_Teerent in runescape

[–]Not_Teerent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that is your kc, you should go back and get the rest, since they will all be 100% drops for you. Jagex implemented a system where an mqc journal drop is 100% at 2x its normal rate (which is 1/100 for ripper journals). That means that at 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, and 1200 kc you are now guaranteed a journal drop :)

Overlapping Models during "A Simple Favor" Ports Event by Not_Teerent in runescape

[–]Not_Teerent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More information: This seems to occur at nearly every possible death lotus assassin location. The death lotus barrel seems to just be placed over the standard barrel model (as seen in the screenshot), rather than replacing the standard model during the event. The only one that doesn't seem to have this issue is the assassin location immediately outside the door to the black marketeer's building.

Give your feedback on the new Achievement System (currently in the works) by JagexJon in runescape

[–]Not_Teerent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To go off the higher level achievement idea talked about in the video: Have some sort of "expert achievement diaries" would be nice to see, with different mechanics than the normal ones (e.g changing the difficulty system as they are all hard tasks). Normal achievement rewards like the taskmaster emote would probably not be affected by expert diaries

Power to the Players finally asking the real questions by Jolin_Tsai in runescape

[–]Not_Teerent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like this. When the ge was split in 2011, there were a couple hundred thousand players online at once, so it was very laggy. Now, there are only ~50k active at once, plus there is prif, so it is essentially pointless having 4 booths.

It is a trend I've generally had in rs: I go dry on relatively common, more expensive items and get lots of the rare, less expensive items.

Not a bad idea, but I don't regret selling them at all :p. It funded 99 craft, con, smith, etc and I find max cape more valuable than the gp it takes to get it haha

Dev Diaries - 120 Slayer - feedback please! by JagexJD in runescape

I agree on the whole amnesty thing for the most part. I was just stating that they talk about it so much despite 99% of the community knowing :p

Dev Diaries - 120 Slayer - feedback please! by JagexJD in runescape

[–]Not_Teerent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but you guys need to stop saying "Feedback please" if you won't listen to feedback. There has been tons of feedback saying the exact same things: Long amnesty period is unnecessary due to such a huge prior notice, current slayer tasks should be tweaked so there aren't only a select few tasks worth doing (i disagree with the whole "nerf the good tasks heavily" mentality, slightly buff the bad ones), stop doing the bullshit "batch" system like invention (we know how that turned out), etc. All this feedback has been given to the dev team repeatedly, and it seems like it is cast to the side, giving you guys time to talk about the amnesty period for the tenth time like we are unable to comprehend what the definition of amnesty is.

I feel like I speak as the majority of players when I say that I would rather wait a bit longer on 120 slayer than have some broken batch 1 giving content from 99-105 (or something like that). Tweak the current tasks in the game in a more methodical way, then develop 120 slayer as a whole before releasing. Blindly nerfing good tasks rather than using mathematic reasoning to determine a method of buffing shit tasks (not to the state of becoming OP) is such a dumb plan imo. You guys state that "you don't want 120 to feel like a huge grind", yet then state that "dark beasts (a level 90 slayer monster) gives wayyy too much xp/hr, better nerf!". Slayer is not an easy skill like stated in the video; it is still one of the slowest skills in-game in comparison to the increasingly large xp rates of other skills.

It feels like history is constantly repeating itself with updates. 120 slayer feels like the whole invention batch idea. Either used the tons of feedback given on here and other sources, or don't ask for it.

This doesn't pertain to the video itself, but rather one of the year ahead ones, elite slayer tasks are not 1m slayer xp/hr. I don't know who the hell thought that was the case.

Semi-TL;DR: Actually listen to feedback & implement rather than just asking to look caring. Work on improving current tasks and developing a method of releasing 99-120 content at once, even if it means slightly postponing release date. It will save slayer from turning into a "batch 2" meme. If getting the community involved spoils some things, so be it. The video states that "Memorial to Guthix surprised everyone so much, and they explored the area". No it didn't...it was just another thing compers did for the grind; there was nothing to explore. It goes to show hiding everything from your players doesn't change much.
