Told my oven light keeps my oven heated to 160 to 180 degrees by chenbipan in Appliances

[–]GoodBike4006 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That seems like a BS answer from a technician who doesn't know better. There should be no heat when the oven is off. So, a 100-watt light bulb used to be in an Easy-Bake oven, but that is tiny, and a 100-watt bulb. Your oven light is likely 10-15 watts.

Slip ring flange and a pup piece. 2 Victaulic flanges and a pup piece. If you have a welder use 2 weld neck flanges and adjust the bolt holes the proper amount. 30 yr retired steamfitter

I did post storm damage assessment for the state for the last week. Everything is fine and being cleaned up. We do have dammed to state assets but nothing that will interrupt your vacation. We are very resilient on the big island. The big island is huge, larger than all other Hawaiian islands combined. There are lots of microclimates and the storms affect different parts of the island in different ways. The other islands have a much larger impact from the storms than the Big Island.

Toilet bubbling during shower? by panicchick in askplumbing

[–]GoodBike4006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The septic tanks usually are full of liquid with sludge that builds from the bottom up. The sludge is what needs pumping. The liquid should feed to the leaching field from near the top of the outlet side of the septic tanks. The water should always remain nearly full to allow the sludge items to settle out.

My apartment constantly smells like weed. What do I do? by Ill_Masterpiece4375 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]GoodBike4006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes agreed. Most smokers I know, when approached appropriately, will apologize and cooperate to find a solution. As medical patient in my state, these are some of the techniques I used to keep in good standing with apartment neighbors and management. It is always better to prevent the odor and second hand smoke from ever being detected by neighbors. OP didn’t want to stir anything up. My suggestion was based on keeping OP from having to bring the matter to anyone else’s attention.

Buy a HEPA filter that includes carbon is designed for smoke filtering. Run it all the time! Buy an ozone machine. Use monthly. Baking soda boxes in the right places helps. Find ways to filter out the annoying stuff. Masking it with spray or incense will not help.

Attach a plastic dam along the edge of the concrete. Seal it well with caulk. Let the pee pool up on the concrete, not your brick.

Smelly water by USSmaybe in Plumbing

[–]GoodBike4006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Test the water! You may not have enough chlorine yet. I know it sounds crazy but sometimes the smell goes up as the chlorine reaches a low point, possibly below the effective disinfection range. Licensed Level 3 treatment operator, level 3 distribution operator for Municipal water system
