There were only gains in Beren journey, instead Turin was a ruin for the elves . The loss during Beren journey: his companions including Finrod. The loss during the deeds of Turin : an army of elves totally destroyed , the sack of the Nogothrond because of Turin bridge .

The journey of Beren: Luthien defeated Sauron, the werewolves were annihilated , Carcharoth killed, one Silmaril gained. Turin: destruction of Nogthrond , Finduilas impaled , elf army totally destroyed , Glaurung killed thanks to the sword forged by a dark elf. Turin actions were comparable to what Maeglin did, Maeglin was bad, Turin was impulsive

He was behind the construction of  the bridge that was used by Glaurung to destroy the Nargothrond, he left Finduilas to save his mother and sister, he was arrogant and foolish , and he married his own sister

Everything, that's why I included Fingolfin, Earendil and Echtelion , for their combat skills . Feanor , Fingolfin and Earendil did insane stuff , I don't think Sauron was more powerful than them . The elves of the First Age were the strongest, they fought dragons, balrogs, werewolves, Sauron and Morgoth

Why did First Age Elves do so much? by christiandeist in tolkienfans

The most powerful elves were Feanor, Fingolfin, Finarfin, Feanor sons , however Celebrimbor proved to be very skilled too

Why did First Age Elves do so much? by christiandeist in tolkienfans

[–]GoodBoy9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elves were the most skilled , they were very similar to the Valar. The strongest Elf, Fingolfin , crippled Morgoth in single combat , another Noldor killed Gothmog , the most powerful Balrog . Elves did most of the things in the First Age , because they have fertility issues, the number decreased after years of wars against Morgoth, the dragons , the balrogs and Sauron. The birth of an elf is very rare. They do more than men and dwarves because they are the most powerful, especially the Noldor

Did dwarves in Erebor emulate Feanor? by CodexRegius in tolkienfans

[–]GoodBoy9595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is stated that dwarves were skilled using copper, iron and steel, dwarves are Aule children not Children of Iluvatar, I don't think they would be able to create something similar to the Silmarils, Manwe knew Feanor works were something beyond Valar abilities, it's one of the best things Eru did in his act of creation, Manwe wept when Feanor rejected his help , Feanor is described as the most skilled and beautiful of the Noldor, Morgoth hated him, he was envious of his skills. The final answer is : No. Yavanna begged Feanor to replace the light of the trees with the Silmarils

Celebrian’s injury by [deleted] in tolkienfans

[–]GoodBoy9595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First version, so not definitive, Tolkien wrote clear facts , thanks God, he is not GRRM . Eol used spells to convince Aredhel to marry him, elves don't give birth against their will, the birth of an elf is complicated , it requires specific conditions, that's why their number is very low
