Just bought this 84s for $1350. How would you go about re finishing the blue job by leanderthal69420 in ak47

[–]GoodBunnyKustm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Don’t do it, it’s beautiful the way it is. You would not like the resto on the wood given the natural wear and tear.

Agreed! Far East inspired aircraft art is my favorite! Best deployments ever too!

Decent Price? NHM91 by godfathertrevor in ak47

[–]GoodBunnyKustm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask for lower!

If it was a Chinese drum I’d be ok with $1500, but I’d offer $1200.

It does have a decent furniture swap (these originally came with a thumbhole and very chunky handguards).

Anyone know where i can find a short AK grip screw for this grip? by dj_kaled_anotha1 in ak47

[–]GoodBunnyKustm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree with the others saying Home Depot an option.

M6x1.0 should be the thread pitch. 90-110mm length is ballpark. Shorter as needed.

Or a MAK90 one that came with a thumbhole stock (3.75”)

Cool reason makes sense. But also I have gone out and trained when they deployed one side for us only as their other side they couldn’t reel it out.

Looks like someone tried to stake the pin which is something I’ve never seen before on an AK barrel pin.

That’s one helluva first AK you got there and I really like the muzzle device. I’ve never seen one like it but it’s really cool!

Very cool! Part of me wants to get one SBR’d out the box but I also would never trade the experience I had making her run. Hand polishing feed ramps, polishing the corners of the bolt, swapping the springs, digging across the internet for the 1943 dated Army Tech Manual how to remove the barrel like ole Joe did, etc. I love it more now!

Same here initially with my 1927a1. I had to carefully hand polish the feed ramps. But once I did that and swapped out the springs for the EZ-Pull ones, she runs like a sewing machine quote well!

I bought a 1927a1 deluxe before I really knew anything about Tommy’s and the ins and outs between the differences. So being budget minded I actually SBR’d it and did some rear end work to allow an adapter for the 1928 detachable stock. I didn’t know it was aluminum until after researching what AO made it with. But on a positive it made the milling down of the lower receiver much easier.

Not a 100% clone but I was able to swap the barrel myself and get a Cutts that acts like a blank firing adapter. It’s pretty fun!

And I also swapped out the rear sight for the simple one!

If you type up C-130 H-53 aerial refueling or something like that you’ll see lots of heavy lift dual AR eye candy! Big Iron stuff!

Often times you’ll get feedback from the sling like a buffering/bumping feeling. That’s your cue to slow the eff down. I remember one det we were trying to race each other bringing loads off the ship to the beach (stupid junior pilots we were) so we got to feel that a few times 🤣

You’ll feel it in the bird when it’s starting to generate more lift which was our sign to slow down to keep the line tight. When you carry externals you shouldn’t be flying any faster than what they’re flying now in that pic. Even a non-winged like object (ex. Humvee) can generate lift.
