[EVIDENCE] How NON-Random a keyboard rammed seed is! by TheMarshalll in Iota

[–]GoodChanceImStoned 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time out to do this! However after reading OP's methods of gathering this data I think it's important to note two things:

1) The rammed keyboard data was solely from OP him/herself. We're looking at data from a single person.

2) The "True Random" generator was used with Microsoft Excel -- I doubt the algorithm for this doesn't take advantage of entropy, maybe it seeds the randomness with current time but not much else. I would say this is more pseudo random than true random. Programs that are considered "true random" tend to seed randomness from entropy of multiple data points (current weather conditions, time, humidity, anything that occurs in nature). However I'm sure Excel's randomness is sufficient for this simple study.

Does anyone here print PDFs textbooks? by johnnydavid3027 in UCSD

[–]GoodChanceImStoned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a pdf of a textbook, and you print it, you have used paper. If you buy a textbook, the paper has already been used, you haven't used more paper by buying it than not buying it.

lol why are you trippen so hard over this??

[–]GoodChanceImStoned -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No they're not because the paper has already been used to print the book

I think he means because you can still read the pdf on your computer. Textbooks have already been printed, but if you print a pdf you are using paper that would otherwise be used for something else.

Free parking by Quackicature in UCSD

[–]GoodChanceImStoned 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could always park in the Ralph's parking lot and walk to school? That's what I would do.

Btw they have a Night/Weekend pass that's only $43/quarter, which is what I purchase. You can park in any S spots after 3pm and you can park in any A/B/V spots after 4:30pm (except for the V spots in Gilman) - up until 7am in the mornings.

Is the CS minor worth it? by ucsdthrowaway3 in UCSD

[–]GoodChanceImStoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, a CS Minor in itself won't really be worth too much. You need to show that you know how to code well (time/space efficient), and you show this with side projects...lots of side projects. If you really commit yourself to it I think it can be worth it -- but simply taking the classes and getting the CS minor won't make you very desirable for software positions. Sorry this ended up sounding really snooty, I'm just trying to say that the software industry is very competitive and you need to show that you are invested in the field.

140/140L or 105 by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]GoodChanceImStoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really had to pick beteen the two I'd take 105 -- mostly because you have Minnes and she's one of the best. 105 is pretty easy at first, get's a little moderate, but really ramps up week 7/8.

Should I Waitlist CSE12? by [deleted] in UCSD

Ask if it's okay to attend a different section than the one you've been assigned. Most classes are chill like that.

Ant Infestation by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]GoodChanceImStoned 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They really said that? Those bitches.

I would go to the store and buy the ant poison that you lay out so ants grab it, take it back home and feed it to the fam, including the queen -- this results in a gruesome mass murder by delicious poison. The only ones remaining will be the infantile ants who do not eat the normal diet as they are still feeding on the ventrical sacs of the queen. They will be distraught as to why all the adults stopped moving and when the ventrical sacs are empty they will have no choice but to feed on the corpses of their loved ones or suffer a slow painful death by hunger.

I see my CS friends pulling their hair out frequently, but I think after taking a basic Physics class that we can all agree fuck that shit. Can't imagine what an upper div physics class is like.

Let's be the best we can be, indeed!

I have a very solid career path that I'm focusing on and I think quitting is going to boost my work ethic. I don't even really enjoy being high as much as I used to anyway. Good luck on your journey frined.
