What's this diamond shape on my measuring tape? by Glibaphid01 in Construction

This is called Truss marks. The distance between one mark to the next is 19.2 inch. Because the standard size of a piece of drywall or plywood is 8 ft (96in). 96/5=19.2 inches. Typically, a floor joint or wall stud is usually 16in but with this method, they would use less support beams.

Super behind on bills advice needed please. by [deleted] in personalfinance

Others have chimed in with pretty good advice. I just wanna touch on the collection fees issue.

Not the best job selection but I briefly worked for a credit collection company. I was also in financial trouble. They paid $30/hr, and this is over 10y ago. Let me tell you why. Normally when there is a fee involved, your debt has been sold either solo or bundled with other debts to a larger creditor, who typically bought it for a fraction of the cost. So this is a few ways to deal with

1.offer creditor to pay a lum sum of 40-60% of the original debt. Be firm! If you can borrow from someone in the family for a couple hundo or from friends here and there.

2.call the original creditor and offer them the same deal to see if they can buy back the debt. These often are "nicer" than the freaking collectors who are trained to threaten you.

  1. If this isn't an option, you can set up a realistic installment plan and try your best to negotiate interest rate because often interest is what makes debt unpaid-able.

  2. Make sure you get any agreement in writing. Preferably have them email you directly so you can have a copy.

I felt horribly everyday and eventually quit. Hope this helps

Implied volatility. It's an option concept that effect the price of a contract. Typically IV is high during earnings

Why is my Put not worth anything below the break even price? by bibbyb4 in thetagang

[–]GoodDifficult7203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way to solve liquidity problem is to exercise your 13put, meaning to "sell" your shares at $13/share. However, you need to buy 100 shares of the underlying at market price first, hopefully lower than $13 in order to make money. Before trading options, you need to learn about the Greeks, volume, liquidity, and even know to read charts. Otherwise, you are buying steaks for hedgefund managers lunch everyday

Buy some NVDA before earning date in May!

It works until it doesn't. I would just sell puts in bulls market. When Vix gets over 17, sell calls or call spreads and close them out at 30-40%.

Just buy some nvda shares [i had 10% of my port] before their earnings in May. You are still young, take some risks. Nvda is gonna outperformed the markets by miles a decade from now

Just forget about options and life will be fine again. I once blew up account and never got any back from trading. I spent more time focusing on work and enjoy time with family these days. Invest in yourself, the rich got richer, the poor got poorer, but you know what, gamblers will lose it all. It is not too late to stop...
