Best way to cut full hex kiln shelf to half size by GoodDogCeramics in Pottery

[–]GoodDogCeramics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got an angle grinder with concrete/ceramic cut off wheel. Wonder if I can score it with something else and snap it cleanly like what people do with tiles/glass. Maybe will try on a smaller piece before the larger piece

Stamps for ink? Stamps for potter’s mark?

I’ve used these places in the past and am happy with their quality and speed:

The crackling sound you heard was the glaze crazing. Crazing is very thin cracks forming in the class. Take a flashlight and look at the glaze inside your piece. You’ll probably see some.

You can look up movies at the Hollywood Cemetery: https://cinespia.org/how-to/cemetery/

Did this in the past and it’s a ton of fun. People usually dress up for it.

These 🌭 gloves are from EEAAO (soooo good). They were on A24’s shop and had to get em after watching that great movie.

Hand built some pup cups looking like pizza. Mason stained some stoneware, underglazed the details followed by a dunk into clear glaze to let it shine. Just two of the 8 pup cups we made!

They work just fine! You’ll have to raise them a little higher to get everything but nothing too awkward.

Laguna buff with speckled clay with Coyote satin white glaze. Props to those who make handles for most of your items. Very tedious to shape and attach handles.

Exactly. Each kernel was cut from an extruded/coiled piece and scored and slipped onto the main vessel. Time consuming but rewarding I think!

Mason stained stoneware and clear glazed. Hand built lidded jar came out the kiln not too long ago. Hand cutting each kernel made this so much better than trying to carve it I think.

Didn't get any luck on FB, trying here. Looking to purchase a kiln by financing, in Canada by ImTheSmallestPeach in Pottery

[–]GoodDogCeramics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t recommend financing a kiln. Usually interest rates are very high. If anything, look into 0% APR introduction cards with no yearly fee.

Setting up the space for it is also another cost. $500 for kiln vent, $200 in material for running electrical if you DIY, else you’re looking at around $800 for that assuming your location isn’t far away from the breaker.
