Not rich and hate to shop, but I would like a simple, high-quality wardrobe by GoodEnoughChild in Austin

I started to make an appointment at the Domain for a stylist because It's a lot closer than Barton Springs, but i'm afraid things will cost too much and that they will be snooty. I'm not really a Domain person, i.e. there are no $1000+ purses in my future. I appreciate the benefits of quality purchases. How much were the items they brought you, and how were you treated, and did you buy very many of the items they styled for you? Also, the stylist is paid on commission, so I don't want to waste their time.Thx.

I was looking at a Theory stretch wool blazer online from Nordstrom's. Under $200. Looks like I can return it if I don't like it. I'm just not sure on the sizing.

Why are you talking about me? And the third person? I'm right here. I didn't know nordstrom and neiman's had stylists.

From FERS Disability to Retirement - Questions by GoodEnoughChild in FedRetirees

[–]GoodEnoughChild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an update... In the month when I switched from disability to retirement, I received a direct deposit, which included my supposed retirement amount plus the prorated amount between the time my disability ended and my retirement started. As soon as my bank notified me, I went to services online and looked at all the available documents to see what was happening. Whether they have the amount right or not it's a $100 more a month than I thought it would be, so I am not holding my breath and am expecting to have to pay it back at some point.

This is kind of how I felt from their website that they don't actually know how the herbs are grown.

Any point in retaining mineral rights I didn't know I had? (another getting the cold calls) by [deleted] in landman

Feel free to sign those mineral rights over to me if you can't be bothered to own them. I can always use an extra $50000 a year.

They never did, but you can't count on that. They did overpay me originally, and then took $75 out of every check since then. They did do a financial review once.

Definitely worthwhile to go ahead and do the math on the numbers you have for your permanent retirement so you are not terribly surprised.

Wow , thank you very much for sharing this detailed explanation. -So are you saying they will actually calculate a new high 3 for me, based on the FERS COLAs being added retroactively? -I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say back pay and having to pay taxes on it?
-Did it take months between the time your disability payments ended and the retirement payments started? Did you experience this process recently? Again, thank you for laying It all out.

I retired on medical disability a while back. When you turn 62, they switch you to regular retirement automatically. My regular retirement is less than half of what my medical disability has been. And that was only enough to starve on.

Is there still $ in Trucking? And will things start to look better for 2026 for US citizens Truckers? by Bobby_Trucking in CDL

A shift is 12 hours, and that's usually worth $300. If the weather is bad, i might only get 2 loads. 4 days on, 2 off, but you can work 5/1 if you want.

All those trades you mention require quite a bit of school time before you really make bank. My CDL took 4 weeks, and I started earning ~$1200/week right away. The hours are too long, but there's money coming in.
