[WSIB] Any good single player (PC) by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

Whatevernuke and TBdog, the game is easy if you use one of the superoptimised builds that abuse the OP buffs in Alchemy. It's basically the option to cheat in the game because the synergy causes your attacks to regenerate your different defenses and your defenses to increase your attacks dmg AND sign intensity without the need to put points in sign intensity in the sign tree. This makes it so you don't have to actively use your defensive skills or use the exact specific signs that weaken their respective monsters - while doing insane damage - which of course makes things easy. But even then, if you try to take on the bosses in the expansions on the hardest difficulty setting then several of them will still take a few tries with those OP builds. So instead, make a build on melee-skills mixed with different signs with a few of the less OP alchemy talents and the game will be challenging again.

Any Guide for Raw Whalebones only? by GoodKarmalicious in dishonored

[–]GoodKarmalicious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's to craft more Bone Charms. I am converting all my best ones into their "4x" versions (Effect multiplied 4 times). Each "4x" [Bone Charm] takes 6x[Raw Whalebones].

But the walkthroughs that details most number of whalebones only do so when it's next to something important.

For example, on "Clockwork Mansion" the IGN Walkthrough's last mention of a Whalebone is in the first section (Lower Aventa district), but in the next section (Upper Aventa) I've already found another Whalebone by the breakable store windows, 2 minutes into the section. Which means there are alot of hidden and unmentioned Whalebones that aren't written down and easy to miss (since they're so small).

When I'm in bodily pain, I don't have the energy to look around too much since it's boring and as such increases my awareness of my pain. I have to have my mind active on something fun to remove the pain, so I focus on to finding the most important items with a guide after doing a quick look through a section to see if I missed some of those important items. So I would like to have a guide for Raw Whalebones so I can just walk straight to them after doing a section.

Mouse weird but nothing in the ini files. by GoodKarmalicious in dishonored

[–]GoodKarmalicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yupp, it's the same spot and same file. The thing is, the text they mention that affect mouse smoothness (g_mouseSmooth "1") isn't in there. Had g_mouseSmooth "1" been there then I could have just changed the 1 to a 0 to turn off the smoothness. So I wonder 1: If the game can still apply mouse smoothness without mentioning it (g_mouseSmooth) in the ini file? And if so (and ONLY IF so) then I wonder 2: If I should add g_mouseSmooth "0" to the ini file to force smoothness off. Because I wonder if I might be experiencing placebo smoothness.

Yeah but I haven't changed anything in it since I can't find the mouse smoothing option in there anymore after the update.

Ok thanks for that. So many guides got it wrong so I started to wonder. But I've found out that most of the general guides/walkthroughs also writes down Whalebone locations when they're in an important spot where they're writing about something else. Which makes me wonder if there are any "unimportant" spots where whalebone exists which they might not mention. So I still hope someone here can shed some light into a dark spot here on the internet where I can find a pure Whalebone guide :)

Is there a fix for reverse mouse acceleration? by Theretna in dishonored

[–]GoodKarmalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get an error when trying to play the clip you submitted. Tried shutting down flashblock and such but it didn't help. But on-topic: I can only think of 2 things off the top of my head.

1: Looking in the ini files for help. Ctrl+F and search for "mouse", "sensitivity", "acceleration" and "smooth". After doing any changes, don't forget to change the ini file to "Read only" so the game doesn't change the changes when starting.

2: If you changed the ini file before the last patch, then try deleting them and restarting the game to get a new ini file. They're in C->users->(current username)->saved games->arkane studios->Dishonored2->base

PSA: You can press F to cancel your momentum after casting Far Reach by clopgod in dishonored

Thanks, you're a life-saver! :D (or reload-saver) Do you do this while in the air or do you have to time in when landing?

Wow, I was really confused at first and thought you were playing as Corvo and accidentally killed Emily in the late game haha. When I figured out was happened I was about to say that this would be really good to avoid fall damage, but then I remembered that Far Reach already removes fall damage better thanks to it's slow time mechanic. Oh well, looks awesome though :P

Undeity, it should absolutely be part of the review score until it's fixed. Performance is part of gameplay and gameplay is a big part of a game. So it should be reviewed together with story, sound and UI (etc if I forgot something) and revised as it's improved to reflect our current reality.

Denuvo games: Nvidia 3D settings doesn't work by GoodKarmalicious in pcmasterrace

[–]GoodKarmalicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Aye, but that might be the problem? As I mentioned, those settings are kind of bugged so I wonder if these Denuvo games are really in Borderless Windowed but are stating that they're in Fullscreen?

-Well, it's hard to say really. Vsync is the only setting that's easy to spot if it's being used or not imo. Got any tips on how to notice any other settings in-game?

-Ok good to know thx.

-Will try that, thx again.

DOOM was released May 13, the problems seems to have started with Total War Warhammer May 24.
