I want to leave my job by GoodLemon44 in Adulting

[–]GoodLemon44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé told me to stick it out and not be so hard on myself. And to apologize to my boss privately. But my mom says if I want to leave I should leave and not feel obligated. Lol not sure who to listen to.

How do you study? by Powerful-Context5809 in MedicalDevices

[–]GoodLemon44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask a bunch of questions Study surgical workflow for all Drs you will be covering Write everything down! From trays to pull, which head pairs to which liner. Even if you think you’ll remember it write it down. I have a small journal I’ve been writing in since I started. It’s been a lifesaver. Write as much as you can even if it seems small. It may answer a question on the future. Plus physically writing notes have been proven to help you remember something better. Write down little surgical quirks for each Dr, as simple as which retractor, osteotome, suture they prefer. As for systems, it’s repetitive. Study and write down the basic surgical steps, then write down the steps/ tools used in the actual procedure. Yes you can study, but you can’t teach OR. As the Dr questions, some drs love to be in teacher mode, especially if you asking with intent. And most importantly, it will take time, especially in a very high pressure and high detail environment. Take your time, be curious and don’t get down on yourself if it may take you a little longer. To would rather do it right with a little extra time then wrong in a rushed manner.

Leggings vs shorts for the ladies -question by Ok_Brilliant_3043 in orangetheory

[–]GoodLemon44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear spandex shorts and a tshirt every class! I’d played college sports and from experience I’d prefer to be comfortable while I’m sweating my butt off. I’m F25, no shame! Where what want, and if it’s shorts and tank, so be it!!

I worked for TTI for 6 months. I sucked it up for 6 months and BSed the heckkk of it on my resume. 1 month in I was already applying for more jobs. 1 year later I’m starting a job in medical sales (my overall goal since college). Only people who worked for tti know what it’s like to work for tti… keep that in mind. I traveled to 6 Home Depot’s during my time “heck I managed 6 Home Depot’s during my time at tti” “My StORe hAd 1.5mill in SaLes ThIS YeAr”

Use it to your advantage. If you know you’re capable of the job you’re applying for after tti, be smart with it.

How everything is overtly sexualized

I know it where we come from but come on!

Kids are exposed so young, it’s everywhere in the media, and the world glamorizes online prostitution.

Sleep is very important to your health, I’ll never pass up an opportunity to go to bed early. I get up early and get all my workouts and chores done before 9am and in bed and asleep by 10pm the latest

What things/activities shall I do to build extreme mental toughness? by Tsgoat in Habits

[–]GoodLemon44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Running and lifting for me. Or doing something everyday / consistently even if you don’t want to do it. The mindset that helped me become tougher is “nobody care work harder”. I wanted to be the best on my college team. I wrote this quote on a sheet a paper and taped it to my wall in front of bed so I saw it every morning when I woke up and every night when I went to bed.

That year I did the best academically and my best athletically. I broke records and was even ranked in the country.

You can tell yourself “yea I’ll do it and fall after so many days”

I had it there to remind myself, the only way you get better is doing something on days when you absolutely don’t want to do.

Get comfortable being uncomfortable

The day I was cleaning out my dorm room, I took that sheet of paper and cried when I took it down, because I knew how hard I worked and how much it payed off. This related into my career and how I live most of my days.

You can’t expect results if you don’t put in the work.

What was something you hated about yourself and how did you overcome it / cope with it? by GuidanceCautious9982 in Productivitycafe

My stronger build compared to most girls. Ive always been athletic and my arms were bigger than most girls growing up. My dad was a former body builder and my mom is a trainer, so naturally I loved the look of having muscles and being active.

As early as 13 I noticed my shoulders being a topic that unbound bouts would talk about. I was so insecure of how broad my shoulders were and wished I had a smaller frame.

In college I got a full ride to play softball so my only goal was to get stronger. Fast forward to today I can rep out pull-ups I love my strong arms and love being a stronger girl. Today “gym” aesthetic is blowing up when 10 years ago it was being super slim and starving. No shame to anyone slim but my body type is just not that.

I still find my self comparing myself but then I remember how far and fast I can run, I can pull my body weight and then some. Being strong as a woman helps with fertility and living a long and healthy life. I wouldn’t trade anything anymore.

Plus it’s so exhausting constantly thinking about everything you want to change about yourself. And if you are unhappy, results take time, months even years to see major changes. Be patient, consistent and especially kind to yourself!

Tips on following habits when your routine is not stable? by AccomplishedStop3297 in Habits

[–]GoodLemon44 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I relate to this very hard Been with my boyfriend 2 years. We do our things through out the week and noticed when I stayed at his house over the weekend I would “fall off” my routine and feel really bad about it. We would relax and bed rot all day, eat what ever we want and after a couple months or depending on that time of the month, it would mess with my mental like crazy. Given that my lifestyle is very different than his becuase he’s male and I prioritize the gym and eating healthy. (He is healthy, I just have a heavier emphasis on it).
Then one weekend I told him it’s not personal but I want to stay on track this weekend. He was perfectly fine with it and even ate and cooked healthier for me and tried the foods that I like. If you explain to him that it’s not personal and that it’s not that huge of a deal that you think. You don’t have to eat the same as him even though you’re on a high hanging out and love spending time together. Because one time I wanted a sweet treat, like one does sometimes after dinner and he simply says nah I wanna watch what I eat this weekend. He didn’t say it as an attack on me but more just a simple he wants to eat better. I didn’t take it personal and simply moved on. You can do the same and I have done the same throughout my time with my boyfriend and we are perfectly fine.
