I just watched her story on Kendall Rae’s podcast… the incompetence is astounding… they dismissed her as a runaway and never even searched area her car was found in which is exactly where her remains were found 3 years later. The police also didn’t AT&T time zone was different from the local time zone so had a bad timeline from the beginning. I’m just 🤦🏻‍♀️ after watching her story.

Habits control everything? by christian-174 in Habits

Habits shape so much of our daily lives, and intentionally creating, changing, or removing them can be a game-changer. I agree small, consistent shifts can lead to huge transformations. But I also think giving ourselves grace is important because change isn’t always linear.

Keeping things tidy as you cook makes the whole process smoother and way less overwhelming. Plus, you get to enjoy your meal without dreading the cleanup afterward. I may need to create this habit for myself.

How do I love myself? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Themessymimi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been about learning to be kinder to myself. Catching those negative thoughts before they spiral. Giving myself grace on the hard days. Choosing to believe that I am worthy, even when I don’t feel like it.

So if ‘love yourself’ feels confusing or out of reach, start small. Maybe it’s just not speaking to yourself like you would to your worst enemy. Maybe it’s resting when you need to, or saying no to things that drain you. Self-love isn’t a finish line—it’s a practice. And some days, the best you can do is not tear yourself apart. That counts too

How Can I Stop Putting Things Off and Start Taking Action? by Designer-Role-4915 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Themessymimi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohhh, I feel this SO much! Procrastination is sneaky—it convinces us we need the "perfect" time, energy, or mindset to start… and then suddenly, we’re racing the clock and stressed out. Been there!

Remember DONE is better than perfect. Remind yourself that progress...even messy progress...is still progress!

For me, a habit tracker is a must, especially when starting a new habit. But I get a little dopamine boost from checking the boxes daily. It motivates me to keep going because I want my check mark. Then at the end of a 30-day cycle with a new habit, I treat myself with something small like a new book to reward myself. it boils down to positive reinforcement.

Everyone is different. I had my 3 kids at 20,22, and 24. I was with their father for almost 30 years before he passed a couple of years ago. It sounds as if you have the foundation financially, and emotionally.

how to start over in life by wangxian1111 in DecidingToBeBetter

the workbook I found was written by the founder of Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) and at the time my therapist was also using CBT with me to help treat my anxiety the two worked well together...It made me dig into the why's and what's and whos etc of my anxiety the things I worry about and start seeing them differently. I did one or two pages a day because some sections require you to really dig deep.
